This Valentine's Day, our love will make you think of people you've never met and fell in love with through letters. Bell Fon, Bell Fon, Koi Dao, Koi Dao

Have you ever...missed someone you've never met??

Have you ever... smiled because of someone you've never met??

Have you ever... cried because of someone you've never met??

And have you ever...fallen in love because of someone you've never met??

These are questions that someone asked me a long time ago. Back then it used to be just a question that I didn't really care to find the answer to, but today it's a question that makes me think over and over about it. Is it possible for us to have good feelings for someone we've never met? Is it possible for us to fall in love with someone through letters?

I have to admit that today's technology moves so fast that it's almost impossible to keep up with it. Even I, who used to think of myself as a person with little interest in technology, still have to keep up with it without realizing it. In a world with more and more technology, people's relationships in society are getting worse and there is no discussion.

There were no smiles at each other, everyone was looking down in their own world created by technology. But we still have to rely on it in many ways, right?

I sat with my chin scrolling up and down on the now-popular rectangular smartphone screen, bored because my coffee shop was a little quiet this close to Valentine's Day, when it really shouldn't have been. But because of the new shop that opened nearby. It's bigger and the store is more chicly decorated. I don't know what else to do besides sitting with my smartphone waiting for customers to come into the store, dressed in a white shirt and jeans with an apron tied over it. I'm wearing a white shirt, shaking my head gently at various comment threads on the internet. There are both Thai and foreign opinions mixed together. It's strange that social networks allow people who don't know each other to come and exchange ideas and have an incredible conversation.

Has our world reached an era where we can talk with people all over the world without limits...

The bell hanging on the door rang, causing me to look up quickly, thinking it was a customer.

“Send a letter.”

As soon as I saw the visitor's face, the smiling face of the owner of this coffee shop immediately disappeared.

“Fuck James.”

"What's wrong, Bell?"

A handsome young man who was a close friend asked when he saw that I frowned when I saw the postman's face.

"Well, during this time the shop is quiet. Since this morning we haven't been able to sell even a glass."

“Hey, come on, people are excited about new things. Here's your letter."

James said reassuringly before handing me the envelope in his hand before I furrowed my brow slightly in surprise.

“Again?”

The young man gave a slight nod in response as I took the envelope and looked at it with confusion. My first concern is that I haven't used the postal service in a long time since the technology boom. Why do people still send me letters without the sender's name? My second concern is:

I have received this letter for the second time. Yesterday I received this letter once. In the letter there was only a pen mark with a short message written on it. 'I'm glad I got to talk to you.' Is that strange enough to cause you to be concerned?

"Then I'm going. I have to send it to many places."

The young postman said goodbye before opening the shop door, leaving the recipient of the letter like me confused.

'This Valentine's Day, I will take you as my girlfriend.'

The contents of the second letter that had just been opened made me gasp in bewilderment.

Who sent this letter?

Who would flirt with me like that?

So you're going to take me as your girlfriend this Valentine's Day?

Many questions raced through my head before I turned to look at the calendar on the counter. My eyes slowly shifted from the 8th, today, the day I received this strange second letter. My eyes continued until they stopped on February 14th, the day of love that everyone was waiting for, but maybe not for me.

“6 more days”

I moaned softly to myself as my head was thinking about what that person would do when they said they would get you as my girlfriend on Valentine's Day.

I probably wasn't about to be pulled over, right? This strange story caused my little brain to think about all kinds of things.

jingle jingle

The bell at the door rang again, causing me to jump a bit as I sat staring at the calendar. I hurriedly turned to the door of the shop. I smiled when I saw a petite, cute woman in a red dress craning her neck. Find a comfortable seating area before choosing to sit down at the table next to the entrance of the restaurant.

“Please come.”

I, the owner of the shop, said as I ran towards the small customer who was smiling sincerely. Her smile reached up to her small eyes as she smiled widely at me.

“Uh..what do you want?”

“Is there anything that isn't coffee?”

The answer that came back made me a little surprised before I smiled to continue doing my job as a good service provider. There were a lot of people who went to the coffee shop but didn't drink coffee. Why would I be surprised..

“Well...there's fresh milk cocoa. And iced tea and iced milk.”

“Then you can have cold cocoa.”

The little customer turned around and smiled again before turning around and grabbing a notebook from the bag she had brought with her from the beginning. As for me, after receiving my order, I walked back to the counter to make the correct menu. The order was served to the first customer of the day. Even though my hands were busy making iced cocoa for the customer, my eyes were staring at the girl in the red dress who sat writing something in a notebook. I'd like to say that her eye-catching cuteness makes me not want to take my eyes off.

“I got it.”

A glass of cold cocoa was served on the table. A thin figure who was bent over writing something looked up and looked at me before smiling again, causing me to smile back as well.

“You smile really well.”

The conversation between the shop owner and the customer started up again with the little me smiling again before answering.

“Why is smiling bad?” She raised her eyebrows, waiting for my answer.

“Oh no, when you smile you are so cute.”

I hurriedly said this before the customer misunderstood that I thought her smile was bad. My answer made her smile again before extending her hand to invite me.

“Can I sit with you as a friend?”

The invitation made me hesitate a bit before I nodded lightly in response. Making new friends with such cute faces isn't something you have to think too much about, right?

I slowly moved the chair and sat down across from her before she bent back down to continue writing.

You invited me to sit with you as a friend and you didn't want to talk a little bit?

I could only think quietly and alone as my eyes tried to look at the text that the figure was writing with intense curiosity already starting to kick in.

"Uh...do you work?"

My question was asked very quietly out of consideration and fear that asking this would interfere with personal matters.

"No, I'm writing a letter."

Some people answer without looking up at me writing a letter like that... these days? Who else has done this? If not including the person who sent the letter to me.

"Why"

The other person raised her head and raised her chin. She looked at me, expecting an answer to the reason why I was staring at her with such strange expressions.

"Nothing, just...I don't think anyone still sends letters to each other these days."

I said before walking to pick up my cell phone at the counter and then coming back to open the green application that many people were familiar with for the person in front of me to see.

“This one is called Line. Just type it and press send in a few seconds and he will receive our message.”

I explained, expecting the other person to be excited but they weren't...she let out a soft laugh before saying something that made my face break.

"I know...just writing this letter to the point where you think you don't know how to play Line?"

"Oh...if you can play Line and write letters, why isn't it easier to use Line?"

I said before raising my hand to lightly scratch my head, not understanding the other person.

“It was easy...but it was too fast.”

"So you don't like it quickly?"

“When we send a letter, if we send it normally It took nearly a week for our message to reach him.”

“That is, if you wait a long time to read it, you probably won't feel the way it was written.”

I furrowed my brow, unable to see that there was any benefit in sending a message by letter, which made me understand why the figure across from me had to sit down and write.

“But that's why it's the charm of the letter.”

She said before smiling, why is the world so bright when she smiles?

“The time-traveling letter I write today is read by the reader in a week. Of course, the way I feel when I read it isn't the same as the way I felt when I wrote it, but that's what makes us feel. Because the letter captured our feelings when we wrote it, we were happy. We're sad. We're discouraged.

Or are we hoping that every emotion we write is stored in the letter, something no other application on Earth can do?”

I sat and listened to her explanation attentively before slowly nodding my head in agreement, as if hypnotized to see the good in something I didn't think would have any good.

“Do you believe that letters on a letter can make a person cry and smile? Or even make them love each other.”

Another person told her story and smiled, which made listening to her as enjoyable as listening to her mother read stories to her before bedtime when she was a child.

“True.”

I asked when she stumbled upon the sentence that said the words on the letter made people fall in love. That sentence made me think back to the letter I had received earlier. Is it possible for us to fall in love with someone through letters?

"It's true that during our parents' time they flirted with each other through letters."

Another person said before tearing off the sheet of paper she had just finished writing on and folding it before stuffing it into a pink envelope that she tucked into the notebook.

"I've finished writing. How much is this?"

“60.”

Someone put a notebook in his pocket and handed me a hundred dollar bill.

"No need to withdraw, it's considered payment for sitting and talking."

She said before getting up and grabbing a cup of cocoa and preparing to walk out.

“Wait a minute, you.”

Some feelings made me call you...a feeling that I would regret it if I let you walk away. We might not meet again. It's not easy to find someone as quirky and fun to talk to as you.

“Can I have a Line please?”

Some of them smiled at me before shaking their heads lightly.

"Don't take it. I'm not playing."

She said before pretending to walk away, no.. how can I let you walk away so easily? There must be another way for me to find a way to see you again.

"Then...next time, stop by again. The coffee at my shop is very delicious. If you come and just order cocoa, you're really missing out."

“I normally don't drink coffee. But I will come again.”

She said before smiling at me again and opening the door. I just stood there, so embarrassed to accept the invitation that I almost forgot...I still didn't know her name. That's why my legs stepped out. from the store quickly

"you!"

She looked back at me and raised her eyebrows, hinting that there was something else?

"My name is Belle. What's your name?"

“Fon, my name is Fon.”

She said before walking further and further away until he was out of sight. Today I met a new friend who was very cute and also opened up a world of new ideas. From now on, I'll have to read more of the letters that I don't know who sent them so that I can know how I feel when someone. Then write a letter and see if I can really feel it. Can I really fall in love with that person through letters?

5 days before Valentine's Day

The original envelope was placed on the counter. I looked at it carefully for a moment before deciding to open it. The longer message was a bit surprising.

'Definitely Han! After I told you I'd get you as my girlfriend on Valentine's Day, you must be really nervous. You're really afraid you'll fall in love with me, right? Haha.'

A slight smile suddenly appeared on my face. I smiled at the good mood of the letter writer, as she said... I have proven that we can really smile at the letters. There is a feeling of... The author really exists. But this message is how I felt last week. It would be good if I knew how the writer feels now..

jingle jingle

I quickly folded the letter and stuffed it into the pocket of my jeans before raising my head to greet the customer.

“Come on...come on! It's you.”

Could the customer from yesterday who liked the taste of my iced cocoa come back today or just because of my invitation?

"Stop calling me that...we're close now."

Some of them spoke more casually after talking yesterday, so I nodded and accepted the request in agreement.

"What would you like today? Try some coffee?"

She grimaced slightly when I mentioned coffee before walking over to sit at the bar in front of the counter. Today she chose her new seating spot very well.

“My coffee is really delicious, so try a light latte,” I suggested.

“How is each type of coffee different? Is it strong or light?”

Whether she asked out of curiosity or whether it was just that, I still wanted to answer her carefully as she made me understand some things in the letter more.

“Espresso is coffee that takes roasted coffee beans and grinds them to create a bitter taste. This one will be strong and have the full coffee flavor. As for Americano, it's espresso coffee diluted with hot water. In common language, it's similar to black coffee. This one is a little less strong, but it's still bitter.”

Some of them listened to me and nodded in understanding.

“And this cappuccino will drop again because milk and milk foam are mixed in, resulting in less coffee flavor but still maintaining the richness of the coffee. Mocha is coffee mixed with chocolate. For those of you who don't like the bitterness of coffee, this latte is the lightest. Don't call it coffee. It's actually milk that goes into coffee.

Guaranteed to drink it and get the full flavor of milk.”

“Hm, I just found out.”

Some people nodded their heads in understanding of everything I said before looking thoughtful for a moment.

“And what do you like?” someone asked while I was waiting to receive my order.

“Um, mocha. It has a delicious chocolate flavor.”

“Then let's take it the way you like.”

“Hm?” I looked a little confused. For people who start drinking coffee, you usually have to choose a latte, right? Why do you have to try the one I like?

“I want to know...why you like it.”

I nodded, not understanding the answer before turning to fulfill the orders. The customer is God... We merchants are only responsible for allocating orders.

"Aren't you going to write a letter today?"

I struck up a conversation while we were quiet while she waited for me to make coffee. She shook her head in response and flashed a smile that I had grown accustomed to.

"The one I wrote yesterday was the last one. By the time readers receive it, it's Valentine's Day. Isn't that romantic?"

Another person asked as if to make me praise her and I couldn't help but smile at her cuteness.

“Very romantic haha”

I answered before placing the mocha glass in front of the girl. She made a face of delight when she smelled the aroma of coffee and chocolate wafting together before lifting the glass and sipping the mocha.

“It's bitter anyway.”

She answered as her face became sour from the bitterness of the coffee.

“Haha, this shows that you really have never drunk coffee.”

“Is this how you like it?”

Another person asked before reaching forward and getting close, I understood that he wanted an answer, but being this close, how should I answer the question? I like it like this...is this whether I like coffee or do I like you?

“Answer,” the other person urged when I kept quiet.

"Well...um, I like it like this."

Some of them backed up when they got the answer, and I wasn't sure if it was the coffee or her that said I liked it.

“How much is this glass?”

“This glass is free...I just wanted to give it a try and consider it thank you. I read the letter and it really resonated with me.”

Some of them smiled at the freebies they received before standing up to say that she was going to leave. Sigh! I didn't want to go, I was afraid that I wouldn't come back again.

"rain"

I called her name for the first time after knowing her and she turned and smiled as I called her so close.

“Come again tomorrow.”

She didn't answer, just nodded lightly before walking away.

4 days before Valentine's Day

As usual... I was starting to get more and more accustomed to the white envelope that was lying there. I slowly opened it to read the message inside, curious to know the writer's feelings at that time. I frowned slightly at this time. It's just a short sentence, but it's such a brevity that it feels incredibly funny.

'You're beginning to like me, right?'

I laughed and shook my head softly at the message that I felt the author was exhibiting what we humans call narcissism!

jingle jingle

“Coming every day like this, do you like the coffee or do you like the coffee seller?”

I said teasingly as soon as I saw a figure appear through the door. She gave me a soft glance at me for daring to tease her before coming to sit at the bar in front of the counter.

“If I said I liked the seller, what would you say?”

Even though just a moment ago she was still teasing me, now she's playing with me. She slowly brings her face closer and flirts with me until I'm irritated and have to back away a bit.

“What can you say if you like it? You can eat it every day,” I play back.

"ponderous! You can eat it too.”

We laughed at each other as we became closer after talking and getting to know each other for several days.

“What do you want today?”

I asked when I saw that she hadn't ordered a menu yet.

“Can I take the shop owner?”

She replied before pretending to flick out the tip of her tongue and lick her lips like a predator hungry for its prey.

“If I play this again I will think about it.”

Someone tucked their tongue in as soon as I uttered the threat. I could only shake my head lightly at the other person's playfulness.

“You can have a latte.”

“What do you think about ordering coffee?”

“So I'm going to try them all so I can see what I like.”

She said before turning my attention to the items in the shop as I started making lattes.

“If you don't decorate the shop to make it nice to sit in, who will come in and look at the shop?”

The figure said as he pointed out to the shop across the street where there were a lot of people sitting there. Compared to my shop... you better not compare, I'm embarrassed.

"I'll just do it tomorrow and see."

I answered before walking around the counter to serve someone else's coffee and sitting down next to him.

“People can feel the letters in a letter, but can they really love each other?”

I asked more seriously as the question continued to swirl in my head.

“Have you ever...missed someone you've never met?? Have you ever... smiled because of someone you've never met??

Have you ever... cried because of someone you've never met? And have you ever... fallen in love because of someone you've never met??”

The answer came in the form of a question, causing me to think hard about it before shaking my head and answering. We have never met, how can we miss, smile, cry or fall in love?

“I once read someone's letter and smiled. I cried until I missed him and then finally fell in love even though the letter wasn't even written to me. If one day the answer to the question I asked you changes today, you will know that the words on the letter made people... We have never met and really loved each other.”

She said before lifting her latte glass and taking a sip, her expression looking more relaxed than when she sipped her mocha yesterday. I could only look at the image of her drinking coffee as her voice echoed in my ears.

“How much?” she asked, getting up. I began to realize that each time asking for the price from her was a goodbye.

"free"

“It's free again and if you don't have any customers, you'll lose money,” she said before trying to thrust a 100 baht bill into my hand.

“No, if you want to repay, let's just come again tomorrow. I'm going to decorate the new shop too. Come on."

“If you can come.”

She answered me without smiling like usual but I believe...believe that she will definitely come again.

3 days before Valentine's Day

It has become a daily routine to open and read the mail every morning.

'Why is our life so short?'

Why did I read this sentence today and feel so sad? What is she suffering from? How is it now? Are you feeling better yet? I can only wonder in my heart. Damn it! Why am I crying? I quickly raised my hand to wipe the tears from my face before putting the letter into my trouser pocket as usual.

The same voice that made me look up towards the door, not expecting anyone to come but expecting who it would be but...

“What should I get...?”

It wasn't what I thought. After so many days of loneliness, there was only one customer left in the store. Now, a couple walked in. I felt a little disappointed. The customer who came in wasn't Fon, although they said they didn't expect it, but no. What's the matter? You might not be free today. Tomorrow will come, I hope so.

As time passed, it was almost time to close the shop, but there was no sign of the person I had been waiting for coming. I looked around the beautifully decorated shop, following the advice of my regular customers. I redecorated the shop. I want you to come and see I want you to see what I'm doing for you.

Puck!

Crunch!

The sound of the door being pushed hard and the doorbell ringing announced that there was a visitor. As I was lifting up my chair to prepare to close the shop, I turned towards the door and saw the same young woman. That was familiar, but today something had changed a little. That smile... wasn't as bright as every time we'd met. Yet, she still tried to smile.

“I didn't come too late, right? The shop hasn't closed yet..right?”

Her voice sounded a little breathless, along with the tiny beads of sweat that appeared on her pale face, causing me to hurriedly lift up the chair I had just raised and pull her over to sit down.

“Just in time, the shop hasn't closed yet. Did you come in such a hurry?”

She smiled at me and nodded in response before cupping her chest and slowly breathing in and out, causing me to gently rub her back.

“Are you okay?”

My worried look caused her to smile at me again before giving me a relieved gesture of ok gesture. I smiled back at her before gently stroking her head.

"Later, if you're really busy, you don't have to come. My shop won't run away."

I said before walking around to get some cold water and hand it to her. She took it and downed the glass and drank it out of thirst from exhaustion.

“The new shop is beautifully decorated.”

She put down the empty glass of water before looking around the shop with a smile and a compliment.

“Do you like it?”

“Refers to the shop or owner of the shop.”

The teasing between her and me happened again, causing me to smile at her playfulness.

“Which one you like means that.” Closeness makes the shyness of answering less.

“What should I bring today?”

I asked when I saw that she just sat there smiling and refused to answer my question.

“Take an espresso Americano. And cappuccino too.”

“How are you going to eat it all now?” I hurriedly protested when she threw in an order without any thought.

“I'm just going to taste everything in one day.”

“You can come again tomorrow.”

"Come on, this time you're paying money, you don't have to give it to us for free."

She also insisted on tasting all the coffee today. Although surprised, it wasn't enough to make me suspicious. So I turned on the coffee machine to follow the three menus she had ordered.

“Here.”

Three types of coffee cups were lined up in front of the figure. She slowly lifted the cappuccino cup and took the first sip before making a grimace like usual.

“It's more bitter than the one I ate two times ago.”

“It's definitely more intense.”

She put the glass down before taking a second glass of Americano coffee and taking a sip.

"Hmmm, I can't do this. It's so bitter."

She said before quickly putting it down and sticking out her tongue as if to let air touch it to reduce the bitterness.

“Relax, this one is much more bitter.”

I said before pointing to the last cup of coffee... an espresso. She looked disgusted but out of curiosity she picked it up and took a sip until her expression told the bitter taste. Last cup of coffee

"Anyways, do you know what kind you like?"

I asked as she put down the last cup of coffee, her face still not feeling well from the bitterness.

“I like every type.”

“Huh!” I exclaimed because of the unexpectedness of her answer. Can I swear that the look I'm making is the one that shows I really like it?

“Well, I like it because you let me know what coffee tastes like.”

Her answer made me feel strangely embarrassed. He just said that he liked coffee, but he didn't like me at all. Our eyes stared at each other without stopping. I had to admit that she had very charming eyes.

"Here's the price of coffee."

She put two hundred and two hundred baht bills on the table and was about to leave, right? I really don't like when I have to calculate the price for coffee because it makes me wait until we see each other another day and makes me excited every day. Will you come?

"Uh...rain."

“Hm?” The other person turned around when I called out as her slender hand was about to open the shop door.

“Will you come tomorrow?”

She gave me a faint smile that made me feel strangely dizzy before shrugging her shoulders slightly and walking away… She didn't answer my question, which made me feel a little sorry, but I didn't care too much. Tomorrow you'll probably come back, you'll probably come again, like always.

2 days before Valentine's Day

Seeing the white envelope and the face of the postman like James every day started to feel so familiar that it didn't feel strange anymore, and that habit made me nervous when something changed. Saw James' face this morning and There is no familiar envelope. A smile appeared on my face as soon as I saw James park his motorcycle in front of the store. I hurriedly rushed out of the store.

"James, my letter."

“Today there is none.”

That answer immediately made me smile.

“Then why did you come?”

“Can't you come and support your friend's coffee?”

Another person took off his helmet and walked quickly into the store. I followed him in to take an order from my close friend.

“What do you want?”

“Take anything that isn't coffee.”

That answer inadvertently reminded me of another person before I turned to do whatever James had ordered. A glass of iced tea was placed in front of James and I sighed.

“What's the matter? There are more people entering the store now. Let's decorate the new shop too."

A close friend looked around and asked when he saw my expression that was not very happy.

“Do you think people can like someone through letters?”

"Maybe. It's like when we read a book that we enjoyed and then we like the writer." Another person replied before raising a glass of iced tea and sucking it.

"It's not like that. It's like we don't know the author, but we read the letters he wrote and felt like we fell in love."

"Are you crazy? Don't tell me you mean the owner of the letter that doesn't have a sender's name."

“Nothing, just asking.”

I said no when I felt like I was about to be caught. People wouldn't understand if I told them I was starting to feel good about the book, whose author I don't know. James looked a little disbelieved. I had to quickly change the subject.

“So, do you think people can feel good about two people at the same time?”

I asked. My question comes from the fact that I have feelings for the person in the letter, but at the same time, the people in the real world who stop by every day make me feel just as good. Every time I read that letter I always think of Fon and many times when I'm with Fon I think of that letter.

"So you're in love? You're only asking about love. Is this a love triangle?"

Trying to change the subject made everything come back to normal. James stuck his head out and looked at me, trying to find fault until I could barely look away.

“Hey, no, I'm just wondering, what's going on with you? Can't you ask?”

I pretended to be annoyed and covered it up.

"Alright, let's go. I still have work to do. Just put it in the account and I'll pay at once."

James said before walking out of the store, leaving me with a lot of unanswered questions.

I turned to look at the clock, which said it was 8:00 p.m. Normally my store closes at 7:00 p.m., but today it closed a little late because I was waiting for someone who I thought was coming, but then... there was no one. The one I've been waiting for shows up. What day is it today? Everyone in the letter has disappeared, everyone in reality has passed for me. Today has taken longer than every day, but no matter how long it takes, it will eventually pass.

1 day before Valentine's Day

Jingle jingle

The doorbell rang for the first time that day. I glanced at the door and turned around nonchalantly when I saw that the visitor was my close friend James.

“What is it?” I asked without turning to look.

“Bring the letter.”

I turned around and immediately stretched out my hand to grab the letter. My forgetfulness made me smile without realizing it.

“What are you smiling at?” another asked.

"There's nothing... you can go."

"Oh, now let's get rid of it."

“The others are waiting for the letter, hurry and send it,” I said before shaking my hand and chasing my best friend away. James looked a little annoyed before walking away. I looked down at the white envelope in my hand and quickly opened it.

'Ah, I haven't sent a letter in one day, I missed it. I'm sorry if I made you miss me too much. Haha, tomorrow is Valentine's Day'

The message this time was quite long, but it still managed to retain its narcissism and made me smile again. The final message reminding me that tomorrow is Valentine's Day made me think of the second letter where the person in the letter said that they wanted me to be their girlfriend. I want to know too...it's tomorrow. What will you do?

But while my smile was spreading again, a feeling told me to close it because I thought of someone else who was supposed to come, but this is already the second day that you've disappeared...disappeared without knowing. I repeated what I should do but sit and wait for her to come back again. But I waited and waited until the short hand of the clock circled around and pointed at the number nine again after pointing it once this morning. Sigh! It's tomorrow already.

The day of love that everyone has been waiting for. As I said, it's not for me, but this year I'm looking forward to it in hopes that I might be able to meet the regular customers I've been waiting for and maybe even meet the letter writer.

Valentine's Day

Today my shop was especially bustling, with many couples walking in and out of my shop, so much so that I almost didn't have time to think about the people who were waiting, not even having time to open and read the letter that James had left behind. at the counter since morning

“Sigh!”

I plopped down on my chair, a little tired after the chaotic morning. Luckily, as the afternoon wore on, the crowds began to thin out. My eyes fell on the envelope, but it looked strange. It was in a pink envelope, not white like always. I slowly picked it up and my brow furrowed in confusion. When you see that this time there is the name and address of the sender included.

'Sananthachat Thanaphatphisan'

Curiosity made me open the envelope with excitement, but images of rain still interspersed from time to time. As soon as I opened the paper, I was greeted with letters stretching across the entire page.

'By the time you read this letter, I may not be alive in this world anymore. I have heart disease'

The first sentence in the letter made my hands tremble and my heart feel like it would fall.

'Two weeks ago I went to see the doctor and he told me I would have a heart transplant in America on Valentine's Day. But there was a high chance that I would die during the operation, so I decided to find true love before I died. Sounds stupid, right?'

I nodded in response to the letter as tears began to flow down my cheeks.

'So I decided to send her the first letter because I liked her from the first time I saw her on the day she opened the store for the first time on Valentine's Day last year. But I didn't dare go into the store, I was shy, but I secretly walked past the store. You every day, so I don't know if you've ever noticed.'

I laughed through tears at the slightly strange love confession line, but I liked it.

'After sending the first letter, I had to wait almost a week for her to receive it, so when she received the second letter, I decided to go see her at the store.'

My brow furrowed slightly when I read this. No one came into the store that day except....rain!

'I'm really embarrassed, you know, to have to come see you like that.'

I thought back to the events of that day. The hand that wrote something on the paper was this letter. The pink envelope she put it in was the envelope that the letter came in. Why...why didn't I think of it or be bothered at all? I only hurt myself for knowing too late.

'I don't know if I'll have the opportunity to come to your shop again from now on, but thank you for accepting my letter and reading it. I don't know if it made you fall in love with me or not.'

“I answer you right here...I smiled because of your letter, I cried because of your letter. I miss the time when I didn't get a letter from her and in the end I fell in love with her because of her letter.”

I spoke alone like a crazy person but I just wanted what I said to convey to the writer of this letter that I was glad that the owner of this letter was the same person as my regular customer. I was happy but also disappointed. Because they are the same person means that I might lose both of them. The last line of the letter. I don't want to read it at all.

'Let's be lovers...Fon'

The short message in the last line with the author's signature immediately made me shout out loud. How should I feel? Happy, sad, happy, or should I be sad? No need to wait for this answer, I took myself and ran away. The address listed in the letter was a little closer to my coffee shop, but I hadn't even noticed anyone sneaking past the shop in years.

Ding tong

The doorbell rang and I looked into the house expectantly. Before I saw a middle-aged woman come out and open the door, I hurriedly raised my hand to salute according to etiquette.

"I'm looking for rain."

“Ofon is in the hospital. My child is preparing to travel to America this evening. Mom is about to go to the hospital. Let's go together."

The word the woman used to refer to herself made it not difficult to guess who he was. I nodded before preparing to travel to the hospital with Fon's mother.

hospital

A white rectangular room with the smell of a hospital wafting through the room until it was irritating to my nose. I looked at a thin figure on the bed who was asleep under a ventilator that was fogging up as the body's breathing on the bed was connected to an organ. It makes me shudder to see the state of the person who asked me to be his girlfriend through that letter, and I'm here to answer her questions.

“Is this really this heavy?”

“At first it was nothing but the rain. He ran out of the hospital and secretly went to get coffee. Even though we know that people with heart disease should not drink coffee.”

The worried expression on the mother of the figure on the bed made me feel extremely guilty. That day, when she went to see me with a pale face, she must have been worried that she was sick and that she even let her drink coffee. Thinking about it, I can only hurt myself.

"Can I please talk to Fon?"

Fon's mother nodded in approval before she walked out of the room. I slowly walked in with a heavy heart before I sat down on the chair next to the bed.

"rain"

I nudged her to call out. She slowly opened her eyes before smiling at me. I like it when you smile..but I really don't like sad smiles like that.

“Why didn't you tell me earlier? I'm sorry. Sorry for being stupid.”

I apologized out of guilt. Habits made me never notice that Fon was the one who wrote the letter. She smiled at me before tears slowly flowed from her eyes. A slender hand slowly lifted up and removed the respirator.

“Do you..say..I..will find..true love..before Valentine’s Day?”

A hoarse voice asked weakly, causing me to hold back tears. I grabbed her hand and nodded in response before trying to force a smile at her.

“Alright, you've found true love. But you mustn't abandon your true love, you know? You must recover and you must come back."

There was no answer to confirm my request other than a tear-stained smile. I buried my face in her hands before speaking in a trembling voice.

“I'm your boyfriend now.”

The figure on the bed smiled again happily before reaching out to wipe away the tears that were on my cheeks.

“To be..my girlfriend..you have to be good at smiling, you know that?”

I nodded and smiled at her again before the door to the room was opened by someone.

“It's time to board the plane.”

The sound made the hand I was holding tighten in fear, so I turned around and smiled and nodded encouragingly.

“It's okay, you'll be fine. I will smile at you and wait for you at the coffee shop.”

I said this before the man came to push Fon's bed away as our hands holding each other slowly became separated from each other...but I believe we will not be separated forever. Really?

As time passes, many things change. Even my coffee shop has been made larger and redecorated to welcome Valentine's Day. Only one thing has not changed. That is, I'm still waiting for someone with no intention of changing my mind.

jingle jingle

The doorbell rang and the face of a postman friend whom he hadn't seen in a long time appeared.

“What?”

“There is a letter sent.”

“Letter?” I raised my eyebrows in surprise. It's been a year and I haven't received any mail in a pink envelope without a sender's name, so I have to reach out and open it to quickly read.

'Have you ever...missed someone you've never met??

Have you ever... smiled because of someone you've never met??

Have you ever... cried because of someone you've never met??

Have you ever...fallen in love because of someone you've never met??'

I scanned the letter before looking up to look for the sender.

jingle jingle

The voice of the visitor made me look up and see a thin woman in a red dress standing and smiling at me.

“I miss people I've never met. I smile because of people I've never met. I cried over people I'd never met and I fell in love with people I'd never met. And the person I've never met...is you."

I said before slowly walking towards the figure who was still smiling in front of the door before we both embraced each other with longing. I truly miss you. I really miss you...I believe that people can love each other through letters. really
