I've been away from writing for a very long time due to personal educational reasons. Haha. In the meantime, I've come back with another thrilling short story. Happy Bloody Songkran

A wave of hot air blew onto the face of the young man who was staring at the computer screen with a calm expression. The way his brows knit together and loosen was the only way to know what he was feeling.

“What?” The young man moved away from the computer screen. But he couldn't be too far away because without the fan he would probably melt from here.

“Where are you going to play tomorrow?” Khom, his classmate, greeted in a sweet voice that made him feel both fun and annoyed at the same time.

“I don't know yet,” Chin replied. The young man glanced and saw that his side was winning. He pressed out to the game's main menu.

“Do you want to go with me?” Khom asked Chin. Chin frowned slightly.

“Why did you invite me? There are a lot of other people,” Chin said. In fact, he was just lazy. For the past three years, he has not left the house on Songkran Day. He didn't feel good about going out to play during the festival.

“Yes, please go with me, please,” Khom urged. Chin was silent for a moment.

"I don't really like Songkran. There are a lot of people and it's hot." Chin tried to avoid it.

“Come on, let's go together. I've been inviting you for two years now, and you've never gone with me. Let's go." Khom still insisted on inviting him.

“...Oh, you can go,” Shin agreed. He heard the other end of the line say something like 'Yes'.

“What did you say?”

“Nothing, okay, tomorrow at noon. See you Siam,” Khom said. They talked for a few more sentences before hanging up. Chin put down the phone. A young man looks intently at the clock above.

The story of that day was probably a coincidence. It's probably nothing.

The next morning, Chin arrived at Siam at 11:50 a.m. and still saw no sign of his friend. He tried calling and was told that his friend was almost there. Even though 30 minutes have passed and it's already past the appointed time.

Chin opened the Facebook application and saw someone checking in at Siam Paragon just like him.

“Dammit! Haven't been here for a long time?" The woman slapped his arm sharply.

Shin sighed and released his friend before walking off.

“Where are you going? Are you angry at me? Hey!” Khom turned to Eve and looked like he was about to cry. He was very afraid of today.

“No.” Shin stopped and turned around. “What are you standing there for? Hurry,” he said and continued walking. Eve smiled, at least that was a good sign.

The fun atmosphere of Songkran spreads throughout Siam Square. Chin, Eve and Kom use water guns to spray various strangers. Shin felt incredibly good. He rarely received feelings like this. And he felt that playing Songkran, which he had been away from for so long, was very nostalgic.

Shin sat and rested outside the water battlefield. Kom refused to rest. So he came out to rest and watched people splashing water on each other in the sweltering heat. He unconsciously smiled at the sight in front of him.

“Ah!” A cold water bottle touched his cheek. It was Eve. Shin took the water bottle from her. She sat down next to him.

“Thank you,” the young man said, and the woman nodded lightly in response.

“Do you know when you smile? It looks really nice,” Eve said, Chin not faltering. He downed the water silently, “I'm... glad you came, uh. See you again..."

“Uh,” Chin lowered the water, “How much is this water?”

“Ah, it's okay, I'll take care of it myself.” Eve shook her hand in denial.

The sunlight began to go down. But the number of people coming to celebrate this Thai New Year still continues to pour in and shows no signs of stopping. The longer there is no sunshine, the more people come out. Because the sunlight is starting to decrease.

“There are already a lot of people. Where should we go next?” Khom turned and asked Shin. Shin answered immediately without thinking.

"I don't know. Should I ask Eve?"

“Oh, come on,” Khom replied and turned around to fire a gun at the little boy who was with his family in front. Shin turned to look at Eve beside him. He was about to ask her, but his words were lost when he saw the unusual scene in front of him.

Bright red water flows on the road. Many people still hadn't noticed, and he seemed to be the first person to notice it.

“Explosion!!” Someone's voice cut through the chaotic crowd. Chin grabbed Eve's hand and ran into an alley next to a nearby building. But I didn't see the sharp edge following. Looks like Kom has run to hide somewhere else.

Blood splattered all over the road. The screams of the people echoed all around. There seem to be a lot of people affected. And there appeared to be more than one bomb.

“What the hell is going on?!” Eve cried, her consciousness completely scattered. She hadn't mentally prepared herself to accept what was happening. Yeah, what the hell was this!?

“You need to calm down first. We need to contact Kom first.” Eve nodded and tried to compose herself. Shin took out his cell phone and dialed his friend.

"hello! Kom, where are you?” Shin called into his cell phone.

'I'm in the building on the other side with you guys. I'll meet you outside. There probably isn't anything right now. The explosion must have subsided.' Eve nudged Chin. Chin nodded as if Khom was still fine.

“Okay, let's hurry and leave first. See you outside then."

“Hey! Kom, what happened?!!” Kom didn't seem to hear him. Shin immediately panicked. Eve moved closer to him as she began to feel something was wrong.

“Kom!!” Shin shouted into his cell phone. But there was no reply. There was some snickering on the other end of the phone before the call ended.

“Shin…” Eve pulled his arm. The young man looked back at her and didn't say anything for a while. before getting up

“We have to get out of here! I definitely won't let anything happen to you,” Shin said, extending his hand towards Eve. Eve reached out and took his hand. The familiar touch made her feel better. She swallowed the sorrow in her stomach.

Siam Square Road is now filled with the same condition as a battlefield after the recent explosions. The entire street was stained red with blood. Many people were lying on the ground with body parts flying in many places. Some spots looked like lumps of flesh gathered together to the point that he couldn't tell who or what it was.

Some people can still move but parts of their legs or arms are missing. The sound of crying and wailing was heard everywhere. Some people could only sit and cry and panic. Some children were sitting alone, hugging their knees. The current situation is almost no different from those in horror movies.

Chin noticed that at both ends of the street, something black was slowly creeping in to cover Siam Square. When he looked closely, he saw that it was not just a black shadow. But it was a person wearing a black robe and a pitch-black mask, slowly approaching.

“What is it?” Shin put a finger to her mouth as a signal for her to be quiet first. He wanted to observe what they wanted to do.

A girl was sitting on the side of the road. She looked up when she saw the crowd of black shirts. One of the black-robed figures moved and picked up a shimmering object from beside his body.

The chaos on the streets outside and around the Siam area was just as chaotic as inside. Chin takes Eve to hide in Center Point.

The men in black ran over. They seemed quite upset. He ran back along the same path.

“Looks like we survived,” Shin said.

“Uh... that's good.”

“I'll put you down.” Chin moved and placed Eve's body on the ground. “How is your ankle?”

“It still hurts.” Chin looked at her ankle. I saw a red bruise. Looks like it hurts.
