ENJOY!!
The hot air of the afternoon Many students could hardly concentrate on studying. On each table was a colorful fan and a thick textbook that had been left open. Next to it was a large water bottle. It seems that there is no coldness left anymore. Meanwhile, the entire room was full of chattering sounds of 30 female students.
Out of all the people who were as famous as a storm, there was probably only Miss Kwanthip who was still studying hard. She flicked her glasses askew around her face in annoyance.
“Can you be quiet for a bit?”
Even though Kwan didn't use a lot of noise. But her words caused the entire room to become incredibly quiet. Some friends turned their heads to look at her. But she didn't care, she looked at the teacher who was also looking at her with blank eyes.
The silence lasted less than 4 seconds and the sound of conversation returned. It was a different kind of conversation, a tone that was filled with hate and fun. Which you can hear when women gather together to gossip about someone. It's a sound she's familiar with...
As soon as class was over, Kwan grabbed her bag and hurried out of the room so they could easily gossip about her. She walked quickly. Break through the peace of the soon to be destroyed school and be the first to leave the school.
...as before
The road...is the same as before.
The sky...as usual
The weather is hot...as always.
And she's still lonely...as usual.
“Interested in trying something new?”
She immediately turned her head to look. The owner of the voice was a small man who was smiling at her, leaning against the window in front of a newly opened eyeglasses store. In her hand was a pen and a small brown notebook. She stared at him suspiciously. I don't understand exactly what he means.
“For example...new glasses. Something like this?” he said before smiling widely, showing neatly arranged teeth.
She sighed that she really just wanted to sell things. This man probably just opened a new shop. So there weren't many customers yet. She looked away from the shop owner. Then look into the glass cabinet There are various types of glasses lined up. Each pair of glasses looks and feels different. There aren't tens of them hung like other eyeglasses shops.
Normally, an eyeglasses shop would be decorated in a clean white tone, but the one in front of her now looked mysterious and dark. Only the light that seemed to radiate from each pair of glasses made it look a bit more interesting.
Try going in, it shouldn't hurt. The shop owner goes to great lengths to attract customers. Maybe I'll get good, cheap glasses back too, Kwan thought.
“You can take a look. ” She answered as she pushed open the large door into the shop. The sound of the bell jingling followed by the clanking of many mobiles hanging all over the ceiling. The coldness inside gave her goosebumps immediately. There were a handful of glasses hanging on the wall, in front of her there was a large counter that looked more like a bar counter in a liquor store. Moreover, there was a strange, unexplained smell in the shop that didn't really appeal to her.
There's nothing quite like an eyeglasses store.
Kwan ran his fingers over the different types of glasses. Surprisingly, they all had lenses already attached and didn't look like new glasses.
“Second hand glasses?” she asked the shop owner.
“That's right…” he replied, “If you have any glasses that you no longer use, please sell them to me. I bought them all.” He smiled as he jotted down a note as if he had something important. 'That's strange,' Kwan thought, looking at the different types of glasses and stumbling upon a pair of black-rimmed glasses decorated with luxurious gold.
She picked it up and walked to the mirror to try it on.
“Oh, are you sure you want those glasses?” the shop owner asked.
“I wouldn't want it, just try it on,” she replied.
“No, those glasses don't suit you at all.” He quickly grabbed the glasses in her hand and hung them up in their original place.
He laughed and muttered, “…Do you think you'll have friends by wearing glasses like this?”
Kwan looked up at him in shock. The shop owner ignored her and stepped onto the chair. Reaching out, he grabbed the bright blue glasses hanging from the top for her. “It must be this,” he said.
“How do you know? ” Kwan asked, trying to look into his eyes.
“Well, I'm a sales person.”
" no! How do you know what I'm like at school? How do you know that I don't have any friends?!” Her angry voice echoed throughout the store. She didn't like it when someone talked about this outside of school. Who was the one who let him know about this?
The shop owner looked stunned for a moment, but then smiled again. “I know everything about you, Kwan.”
Kwan's eyes widened. How did he know her name? She began to feel afraid of this little man.
“Don't be afraid, Kwan, I'm helping you.” The shop owner's smile grew wider. “How can I help you?” she asked.
“Um... You probably won't understand what you say now... Well, let me borrow these glasses for one day,” he said, holding up a number with his finger. “...Try it tomorrow. Wear them to school and you will understand.” He used his other hand to hand over a pair of blue glasses.
Kwan looked at the glasses in the shop owner's hand for a moment.
“I don't want it,” she said, and quickly ran out of the store, her fear growing more and more. Her heart was beating faster and faster.
Kwan called for a hired motorcycle. Then ordered him to drive as fast as she could. She turned around and looked at the strange eyeglasses shop until it was out of sight. Who exactly is that man? How do you know her and what does he want from her?
When returning to the dormitory Kwan asked the guard in front of her dormitory if he knew that little man and had he seen him anywhere. She carefully checked her room, thinking back to past events, searching for that man's face in every corner of her memory. She kept thinking about it over and over all night.
Shop owner...
Eyeglasses shop...
Blue glasses...
And the next morning she found those blue glasses on her desk.
Kwan paled, trying to walk towards her desk in the most normal manner possible, looking around the room to make sure no one was watching her. Then he hurriedly put the glasses under the table. What did that man really want? Anger began to replace fear. This evening, she will try going back to the store and talking to him about it.
The morning sun shone on the hair of the girl sitting in front of her, dyeing it a golden yellow.
“Alright students, listen carefully,” the English teacher said, tapping the edge of the ruler repeatedly on the table. The whole class raised their heads and listened intently to what the teacher was about to say. “Teacher will give you homework. Have students divide into groups to make a report on Thai traditions...anything can be used, Loy Krathong, Songkran...it's up to the students.
But do it in English. Divide into groups by yourself. Let's take it -- ”
“How many people are divided into groups, Master!” Watermelon, a chubby girl, interrupted.
“Listen! Well, the teacher is about to speak." Teacher Ed said, "...Let's have at least 5 people, students."
"Exactly, Teacher! There are exactly 35 people in our class," Nat said and laughed with an annoying sound.
“35 people...that's seven groups,” Fern said with a sneer at Kwan.
Kwan lowered his head. She felt so angry that her whole face burned. She tried to hold back the tears so that they wouldn't fall out. There were 36 students in the Mathayom 2/8 class, not 35. Everyone knew, the teacher knew, but no one said anything. No one helped her. It's always been like this.
Even though you really should be able to come to terms with it. But in the end, I have to cry every time.
Kwan slammed his face on the table. Those people will tease her however they want, who will gossip about her, no matter what, she doesn't care anymore. Maybe this is her fate, this is who she is. Forged from loneliness and suffering
“Kwan, are you tired from doing reports all by yourself?” Someone's small voice rang out.
"Oh Namfon, I don't know what makes him like to work alone ever since."
“Oh, so I thought I'd invite you to join the group. So...you don't have to, right?”
Surrounding the present echoed the sounds of disgusting laughter, tears dripped onto the glass of his glasses. until it looks like a small puddle She took off her glasses and wiped them on her skirt. Suddenly, she saw the same blue glasses under the table.
It's like a world with a flickering light. Shining again in bright blue
It couldn't get any worse, she thought.
"I'm crying again. That's funny."
“Wow, if there wasn't this girl in the room, Room 8 should probably be good enough to compete with Room 11.”
...I don't see anything happening at all. Kwan raised his head. I laughed at myself for thinking that this trick-or-treating toy would help.
She used her left sleeve to wipe away tears, causing her blue glasses to flip up. Using his other hand, he grabbed his own disheveled hair and tried to arrange it neatly.
Then she locked eyes with Fern who was staring at her as well. Fern ran back to her own table. Talk loudly with friends The entire group looked at Kwan from time to time with strange eyes.
But Kwan didn't care, she raised her hand and grabbed the temple of her glasses. I'm about to take off these deceptive glasses.
“Kwan, are you joining our group?” a girl sitting by the door shouted. Kwan turned his head and looked in surprise.
what...
"Hoy! You can stop it. My group reserved first! Fern shouted. Breaking away from friends in the group
“Kwan, if you don't come to our group. We cut off friends!” Aom shouted.
“Since when have you been my friend? ”
Kwan turned around to look at the two people fighting over her. This kind of thing seemed like the last thing on earth that could happen, but now it had happened.
The blue frames of her glasses shone brightly around her eyes.
“What? Divide people into your group? There are only talented people in your group. The group will give you morale! Kaew interjected.
Our group isn't complete yet!” Other people in the room began to speak up.
“Kwan is in our group.”
"We're friends, aren't we?"
Before she knew it, almost the entire room was standing around her table, fighting over her. With a voice that became louder and more violent. But Kwan didn't notice as she held both hands tightly on her blue glasses and smiled happily. Finally, she no longer had to be a worthless person. And things are getting better and better.
Thanks to the shop owner...
Thank you, giant glasses--
“Peah!!! Fern fell to the ground. His right hand grabbed the chair next to him until it fell, causing a loud noise to echo throughout the room. Books and sheets tumbled around him. The onlookers retreated behind, making loud noises.
“Don't you know what you're talking about, Fern? I said Kwan is in our group!” Aom shouted out in anger.
“You're in my group! ” The person who had just been slapped got up and pushed Aom down to the ground. Then he raised his other hand up high. before slapping Aom's face hard.

“Stop it! ” Kwan shouted, Fern's hand froze in the air. Everyone stopped. All eyes were on her.
"...We...we are in the savings group."
The room was completely silent as if her words were the verdict.
Tangmo and Nat walked through the group of people.
“Remember this, Kwan,” Nat said as she tried to pull Fern up. The others went to look at Aom, whose eyes had turned a terrifying red. Almost the entire room looked at Kwan with eyes filled with more hatred than any she had ever received.
“Do people who are friends do things like this?”
“Friendship is a fragile thing... ” The shop owner said, his face still full of smiles as usual.
“ ...And do you still want these glasses?”
Kwan listened to what the shop owner said, “I didn't want it to be like this at all... ”
“My shop's glasses. These are specially made glasses that help highlight your personality... Helps show different characteristics. To change the destiny of each person and it is not easy... These glasses give you an abundance of love to help offset the hate…” He glanced at the blue glasses in her hand.
“...and the truth is Hate is difficult to evolve into love, but love can easily evolve into hate,” he said.
The shop owner walked over and picked up a pair of strangely shaped silver glasses that were hanging there, “Or are you going to try these glasses on? It helps financially. If she had money, she might get more friends. ...But what kind of friends you'll get, it's hard to say..."
Kwan looked at the shop owner. But he didn't say anything.
“Or do you want to be famous--” He waved his triangular glasses back and forth playfully.
“You don't have to. ...I don't need any more glasses from you,” Kwan cut in with a sigh. She put her blue glasses on the counter and pulled out her old slanted glasses and put them on. She grabbed the strap of her backpack and prepared to walk out of the store.
Her hand touched the cold knob.
“Wait...but I want those glasses of yours,” the shop owner said with a wide smile. “May I buy it?”
Kwan turned and smiled at the shop owner but said nothing. She walked over and placed her glasses next to the blue glasses. Before walking out of the shop, the cool air collided with the sweltering heat outside.
“We were not born to please the whole world.”
