Title: Nightmare, after war.
Pairing: Steve/Tony.
Note: Spoil Civil War
It was a rather difficult time.
Tony is alive after the ups and downs of the Avengers battle. He has only recently recovered about seventy percent of his physical condition, not to mention his mental state. He was in and out of the hospital, acting on Rohdi's advice, going in to see a doctor and ending up taking medicine to treat him. Which he laughed—it was really funny that he had to see himself do something like this.
Try to trick yourself into believing that the pills will erase your nightmares.
But every night, Tony is still startled by the sight of Captain America's shield planted in the middle of his chest. There was only one image that stood out over and over like a movie projector replaying a movie every night after a nightmare. Tony tried very hard not to drink. But in the end he fell asleep under the influence of alcohol.
It was now three in the morning and Tony brought himself down to the lab.
He felt that Avengers Tower seemed frighteningly wide without his friends in the quiet corridors. Every room seemed empty, quiet, lonely even though there should have been chatter, laughter, or the sound of some kind of argument between him and Steve Rogers.
Tony closed his eyes and gripped the phone tightly.
Steve Rogers has always been an influence on his psyche.
Maybe it was because Steve was someone he talked to often in both nice and argumentative ways, or because Steve was his childhood hero, or maybe there was some chemistry that made him so attracted to Captain America. Now
So interested that he believed and accepted everything.
Tony hopes to have more good friends like Rohdy in his life, and he discovers that Steve Rogers answers this question well.
It's not strange that he would give everything, including his heart, to this friend.
It's not weird because he's Tony Stark.
But Tony's perfectionism seemed to hurt him so much that on his final day Steve took a shield to his chest and walked away with James Barnes.
He looked at the back of the person in blue until he was out of sight for that second. The answer in his heart was clear.
Steve Rogers was everything he was: friend, brother, mentor, family.
Steve was everything Tony wanted him to be and something that made his heart ache.
Maybe it's Pepper's replacement.
And leave life like Pepper
Tony laughed at his own life, dare he say it was so shitty and shitty since there were hundreds of shrapnel near his heart that he had to build an arc reactor to nourish—in other words, protect—the metal shield. He came to fight—in other words, protect—the situation became more and more dire as all he encountered was the loss of the very thing he had built to protect.
Tony can't answer the question whether he created it for himself or for modern peace.
He just wanted to protect...Tony had told himself that.
But in exchange for losing the Pepper family. Or even Jarvis Operating system and friends go He recently suffered a terrible loss. Destroyed, broken, and hopeless, these words have become the new definition of Tony Stark.
Rhody's only close friend is crippled and the rest of the Avengers disperse. The team is torn apart, without a home and no connections. It was everyone's fault Tony had been the one to get him to talk to Colonel Ross. I beg for everything to end here.
Let it be over
He saw a light shine through the lab—it was the next morning.
Tony lives on the support between him and Rohdy, it's the last good thing he has left. Every time I see Rohdie trying to practice standing up and walking. Do physical therapy Tony tried to tell himself every time he had to live, he had to live.
His arms supporting his best friend to help him walk, Rohdi smiled tiredly at him. It was a smile that made him debate between apologizing and wishing him a speedy recovery.
Of course Tony said it first.
His eyes were bloodshot and he looked like he was about to cry. Rohdi patted him on the shoulder and kept saying it was okay.
Another day had almost passed until a letter arrived.
A letter from Steve Rogers drives Tony crazy.
It had been nearly two weeks since the incident and Tony thought his mental state had improved a bit. At least it was better than in the beginning. He had been taking all the medicine the doctor had given him to calm down his frequent panic attacks. He thought he was better until he saw Steve's stupid letter and phone call.
Those symptoms returned.
He was crying in the lab, crying over paper letters and terrible handwriting, and crying over an old phone that only had one number on it. Crying for Steve Rogers...again
miss
Those were the words Tony hadn't thought of saying, but they kept ringing in his head over and over. He tried to shake it off but it only grew louder.
He felt like he was lacking oxygen.
Tony stood up and tried to reach for the bottle of medicine he took regularly, but his legs were too weak to continue.
Tony fell to the ground. Tears flowed unbidden. He wondered if he was crying because of the pain of suffocating or because the burden he was carrying was too heavy.
And it should come to an end.
Tony replays everything that has happened in his life: Mom and Dad, Pepper, Jarvis, Dummy, Happy Friday, Rohdie, Steve, Nat, Clint, Bruce, etc. The Avengers
Will Steve Rogers know? That he never stopped thinking about it for one second.
This is bad...really bad.
If I'm away Who will take care of Rohdie?
If I'm away Are you still waiting for a call from me…Steve?
Tony is running out of oxygen.
If I'm gone, will you come back and get your shield?
If I weren't there, we wouldn't have a chance to talk, right?
His breathing became more difficult.
Blue eyes were still clear in his thoughts, blue eyes and the shield on his chest.
Let me remember your good image. Don't be that picture.
Tony closed his eyes, not knowing what image it was that appeared behind the pupils, but it brought a happy smile to his face that no one had seen in a long time.
If I'm away I will definitely miss you.
But after this...it'll get better, Steve, I promise.
xxxxxxx
Hello
The third short fic has sprung up again. This one is Steve Tony's pair.
This story was written from the moment I saw it.
civil war
It's the first time, but I just polished it up and posted it. I really want to make it a long story and tell more about it. But it didn't get there at all. Haha.
We have a feeling that after this Tony must have a panic attack from the scene where the shield was stuck in Tony's face. At that time he seemed very scared, not unlike the encounter with the extraterrestrial army in the first Avengers movie, which was pitiful.
TvT
The more I write, the more I feel sorry for Tony.
The team is waiting for Tony to be happy haha.
