My name is "Folk" and I write about stories from my life to improve my English skills. Well...read for fun.

"Volk" is the name. I write my life experiences down in order to improve my English writing skills. I wish you have fun reading. Enjoy!

I always look for the stars, and aboveall those time I looked up for the luminous spots, none could match the sceneof that morning, the last page of another chapter of my life. Donned in darkgreen T-shirt and long pants, I was sweating. I was panting. Yet, I took a deepbreathed and carried on my journey up a mountain. I was not alone. Althoughdarkness shrouded every of their visages, those who took the same path asThailand’s reserve troops, too, was there longing for the top. It was a final fight. Most of uscompleted grade twelve before coming on this voyage. Some of us even thought ofthe journey as the last obstacle; one that gives freedom. To me, thatfive-day-trip was a fearsome threat but also an adventure I couldn’t miss. Ifelt like there was something I was looking for and it was there in that redhallowed ground. It certainly was. And perhaps, on that last day, I thought itwas on the top of the mountain. With that in mind, I kept going and going, ignoring everything else.

The sun was beaten. Ireached the horizon first. Sitting in lines, I waited. In place of the loststars, a wondrous scenario came within view. Perfect gradation of orangepainted the skyline, giving life to the children of earth unbiased. Nature bornshape and form of trees reflected on my eyes created a glimpse of disorderedharmony. The cold breeze that groped my skin then had been reminding me of thatliving tales of art over and over until the present. I knew then that after allI had done was not a waste. It was in fact rewarding. However, I couldn’t shakeoff the feeling that I was still incomplete. Something was still missing.Something I had been looking for. Something very important. Before I knew it,the military trainers were already forcing me down the hill.

That’s it. I couldn’t findit. Everything turned black. I was in my own world of thoughts on my way back. Despitehaving to cross numerous homework and exams, field trips and speeches, notmentioning presentations, the camp last year and the one I was then, I washappy. I am a seeker of happiness but there were times I wasn’t. I was lookingfor what lit my days during those time. If you get the job you like, youdon’t have to work for the rest of your life. I recalled what dad told me. PerhapsI like studying and being in hard times, I thought. “There he is” afamiliar voice rang me. My eyes widened while unspeakably beauty of thebackground turned back on screen.

My world waslit.

Dad was right. On the contrary,I had found a greater happiness. I finally found what I’ve been looking for. Itdidn’t seem to matter me what kind of experience I had to face. What mattered andindicated my happiness most was who I face it with. My friends were waiting asthey was gathering our group before going downhill. When I saw them, I smiledbehind my mask and grouped up instantly. Our way down the steep path has turnedinto one of the happiest moment of my life yet. I even made a childish thoughtof wishing it would last forever. My fear of this trip maybe was not of itsobstruction but of that the paths we crossed have met its end.

You arelucky my reader, one way or another. Happiness is all around you all the time.Even if you have lost chances in realizing and repaying it, there is alwaysother chances that you have not yet lost.  It is up to you whether you see it or not. Whenyou do, you will live an eternal happy life. Use the past to motivate yourselfforward, while remember that the future will one day becomes the present so ifyou can’t force yourself to become happy today, you will never be happy.

Thank youfor reading.
