#happy ending
The alarm clock sounded as a warning that it was 6:00 a.m. The sound of a cuckoo echoed throughout the sky. I was sleepy and reached out to turn off the alarm and brought the blanket over my body. My mother knocked loudly on the door to wake me up like every day. It was a sound that I should have gotten used to, but I didn't.
These days, I wake up with a feeling of sadness, wanting to have no purpose in my study life and let it all pass by. uselessly
“When you type this, you will graduate from Mathayom 6. Do you know what faculty you will go to?”
This was another day when my mother kept asking questions. I could only put rice in my mouth and didn't respond to her in any way because I didn't know what he wanted to study or what he wanted to be. But one day I had to face a turning point in my life.
One day at noon, I was sitting and reading, laughing happily, but suddenly felt that someone was staring at me from far away. I turned left and right and saw no one. Until I saw a little girl, about 7 years old, standing in front of me, her body ragged, her face covered in dirt.
Her eyes stared at the book I was reading. Hmm..how?
“Do you want it?”
The girl remained silent, not speaking, but her eyes clearly showed pleading.
"Do you want me to give it to you?"
I smiled and handed her the laugh book.
“I can't read. I saw the cartoon characters and they were cute..”
Before the girl could finish speaking, a voice called out to her from afar and came and violently grabbed her arm. It must have been her mother. Her mother was working on a construction site inside the school where a new building was going to be built. Why do I know that every time I walked into the bathroom behind school I would see her mother secretly drinking alcohol?
The next day at exactly noon, I came and waited for the girl in the same place, hoping that she would come secretly like yesterday, and finally she came. I handed her a book selling laughter and told her,
“Let's meet here at 5 o'clock today and I'll teach you how to read. Hurry and go, Mom will come soon.”
I smiled and waved goodbye to her.
She smiled back with an expression of happiness that had never been seen before.
"A. Chicken. B. Egg.. H. Owl."
"very good!"
I clapped her hands happily and rubbed her head affectionately.
The first 2 days passed and she was clearly learning quickly and by 5:00 p.m. every day. I will sit and teach. "Bua" this little girl We both live together like siblings. Every time Bua gets better, I buy snacks to give to her. Now I'm starting to feel attached to this kid.
But then one day an unexpected event happened and I came to sit and wait for the lotus in the same place as every day. But today she disappeared But I still insist on waiting in case you come running with a smile like always. It was a smile that could be felt sincerely as I walked around. Until my eyes stumbled upon a white piece of paper stuck to the tree that Bua and I like to hang out with, but not before I could open the paper and look at it.
In front of the school, there was a loud noise, as if a car had hit something. So I hurried to see the people who were gathered to watch the event, so I tried to insert myself to take a look. Blood was red all over the road. And what I saw made my heart break like never before. I collapsed, tears slowly flowing out in rivers.
Is what you see in front of you not true?
"lotus.."
I unfolded the paper I held in my hand.
“Thank you teacher :)”
Many years have passed
I have come to terms with that incident. Life must go on.
I walked to the same place I used to go with Bua. The old pictures were still clear. Thank you, Bua. Thank you for making me realize what I should continue to live for.
"Teacher Pim"
A little girl's voice called out to me with a smile on her face, and I was sure I was familiar with that smile.
