The days and nights that Mina and Jeongyeon spent together were happy.
Both of them focused on the phone in front of them. Let yourself be cuddled up together on the sofa in Mina's house. Jeongyeon was scrolling through the screen while the owner was busy uploading selfies they took together on Instagram.
“Uncle, I have a challenge.”
Mina blurted out suddenly before getting out of the big man's arms. Jeongyeon turned off the phone screen and turned to look at her.
“What?” Jeongyeon asked excitedly.
"You have to live without me for one day."
Jeongyeon's smile faded. The other's gaze changed to confusion.
“Why is it so strange for you to come this time…or do you not want to be with me?”
“No, it's not like that. I just want to know if you can stay or not,” Mina replied.
Jeongyeon couldn't imagine what made Mina say this challenge. Even though the two of them normally like to gamble on small things, But this time the big man felt that it was different than usual.
“Okay, I accept the challenge. If you win, what will you get as a reward?” Jeongyeon asked.
“If you win, I will love you forever,” Mina smiled.
“Okay, let's get started.”
Jeongyeon said enthusiastically before kissing Mina's lips softly as a final note.
“Bye-bye,” Jeongyeon said goodbye as she opened the door to the other person's house.
“Bye.”
She endured for 24 hours without calling or texting Mina. Jeongyeon had no chance to realize that it was the last 24 hours of her cancer-stricken lover's life. Mina never told her. Until when Yoo Jeongyeon returned to Mina's front door after the deadline.
She knocked on the door, but there was no answer.
Jeongyeon tried knocking on the door several more times before deciding to reach for the keys in his pocket. She had the spare key that Mina had given her to carry with her. The tall man opened it and found an empty house.
She walked up the stairs. Heading straight to Mina's bedroom where they always slept together. But once again, Jeongyeon encountered loneliness. There weren't any shadows in there. She noticed a small letter lying on the bed. Jeongyeon grabbed the letter and read it, tears nearly streaming down her face.
You can do it, talented person...
...After this, I have to do it every day.
I love you always ❤️️
Myoi Mina
After reading the message Jeongyeon could only collapse on her bed and cry because of the longing that she knew would never come again.
