Hello all readers, I
Mr. Phanuwat
A 25-year-old amateur writer would like to present the first sci-fi and fantasy short story of his life. (I used to submit it to a contest but didn't get anything, haha) Let good young readers read it...
This short story plays with every belief and theory you've ever encountered. Faith and science may be closer together than anyone ever thought. About various dangerous disasters That affect humanity may come from things that you have never known but that actually exist. Inviting all readers to experience a story that is too difficult to describe...
NIMID – 069
THAI VER.
At a time in the distant space
“First it was daytime.
Then it's night.
Darkness has passed.
Light began to shine…”
“What are you reading?” Morris interrupted someone's reading.
“A Star Wars novel,” replied Aoki, one of the astronauts.
"oh! And since when did you like stories about space?” Morris asked.
“Since I can remember,” Aoki replied jokingly.
“Ha, you're funny,” Morris replied.
“Good morning everyone!” Cloud said loudly.
“You too,” Jenny replied.
“Today will be a historic day for all mankind!” Morris shouted.
Starlone - 1 is the name of the spacecraft operated by four NASA astronauts from an interstellar mission called '
NIMID – 069’
It is about 73,250 light years distant from Earth.
“Star Wars holds a special place in my heart,” Aoki said.
“That's why you're here,” Cloud said.
“Absolutely, but right now, would you please come look at the radar over here for me,” Jenny told Mek.
“Sure,” Mek, who was an electrical engineer, replied.
They had arrived at the purple rock planet.
“Look! It looks like a giant grape,” Aoki said.
“Prepare to receive a shock from the atmosphere!” Cloud said loudly.
“Hello!”
“Prepare to land,” Jenny said.
“Phew!”
“How is the atmosphere?” Morris asked.
“It is 90% carbon dioxide, 5% oxygen, and 5% other gases,” Mek replied.
“Okay, we have to wear protective gear anyway,” Jenny said.
“Then Let's go!” Morris said after everyone got dressed.
Then everyone left the ship except Mek, who was stationed on the ship.
“Look at that sky. There's dust everywhere,” Jenny said.
“That's not a problem. Because we have the best vehicles here!” Aoki replied.
“Be careful, we don't know what's waiting for us…” said Morris, himself a veteran.
They drove through the crimson valley. It looked like it was drenched in blood.
“It looks really creepy,” Morris said.
“If you say so. I would be horrified,” Aoki replied.
They drove further and further away from the ship…
“Okay, we're here,” Mek said over the radio from the ship.
“Alright, let's get going and then we can go home,” Morris said.
They started collecting samples from a purple rocky planet named '
NIMID – 069’
“Whoosh!”
“!!?” They were startled by the strange noise.
“W-What was that sound!?” Aoki asked in shock.
“I don't know!” Jenny shouted in a low voice.
“Shhh,” Morris made a noise.
“Raise your gun,” Morris said as he looked around.
The sound came from behind the cave where they were collecting samples.
“I think I saw the eyes of something…” Jenny said.
“I'm afraid…” Aoki, the doctor, said in a whisper.
“Calm down,” Morris said in a low voice.
That living thing has disappeared…
“You think it's gone…right?” Aoki asked.
“Maybe,” Jenny replied.
“No!” Morris shouted.
The creature quickly slithered towards them.
“Run!!” Jenny shouted.
“Bang bang bang”
“Oh my god, what is that!?” Aoki shouted.
They ran without thinking for their lives.
“And the radio signal has disappeared!” Morris shouted.
“Run first!!” Jenny yelled back.
They ran through a maze-like intersection.
“What is that light!?” Aoki asked.
“What?” Morris asked back.
“There is no time to think. It might be a solution,” Jenny shouted back.
They ran quickly towards the light.
“There, there!!” they shouted.
They ran there…
And then a bright white light flashed after they ran past.
“Zoommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm”
“W-What was that!?” “Are we dead?” Aoki asked.
“I don't think so…” Morris replied.
They were in the middle of a wide expanse where both the ground and sky were completely white.
“Where is this place?” Jenny asked.
"I don't know," Aoki answered in a low voice.
"I do not know But I think we're not dead yet,” Morris said.
After they were silent and confused by the events for a while…
“Hello everyone!” came a voice from an unknown person.
“!!?” They were shocked.
“Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you,” came the voice of a mysterious man floating near them.
“How can we believe this?” Morris said loudly, raising his gun.
“Look, it seems like I have a gun?” said a tall, translucent man floating above them.
“…” They were silent.
“Do you know Jesus, Siddhartha, or Allah?” the translucent man asked.
“What?” Jenny said loudly.
“Impossible…” Morris thought to himself.
“I know,” Jenny replied to the translucent man.
“Good, let me tell you something…” The translucent man said.
They lowered their guns.
“I am them, I am Yeshua, Siddhartha, Allah and the prophets of your religion.”
“I can be whoever I want. But I have done one great thing,” the translucent man said.
“And what is that?” Aoki asked.
“I just want to make sure that the humans won't get any worse,” the translucent man answered.
“How?” Morris asked.
“You probably know about the nuclear power plant that you all use energy from, right?” the translucent man asked.
“I know,” they replied.
“So, do you guys know about nuclear bombs?” the translucent man asked.
“Why not?” they replied.
“Nuclear energy is a man-made thing and it has both advantages and disadvantages.”
“You all remember the Chernobyl nuclear power plant incident. That can benefit the whole city, right?”
“But in the end It just happened that something went wrong.”
“I have always been watching…”
“Men create and die with their own hands,” the translucent man said.
“We try to make it better. Maybe because our grandparents did a lot of bad things,” Morris said.
“We're trying,” Aoki added.
“We all do a lot of good and bad things. Maybe it's because we're not you…” Jenny, who was a mechanical engineer, replied.
“Your true.”
“That's why I brought you all here,” the translucent man said, raising his index finger above his head. After that, a bright white light appeared again.
“Zoommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm”
“Where are we…” Aoki asked.
“Think of it as '
NIMID – 069‘
No,” Morris replied.
“Yes, we are standing at the front of the ship,” Jenny said.
"yes! You guys are at the front of the ship and, oh my god! You guys are still alive,” Cloud said with extreme joy and surprise.
“Cloud, how long have we lost contact?” Morris asked.
“About 10 minutes,” Cloud replied.
“But I feel like it's been a year,” Aoki said.
“Yes…” Morris and Jenny answered in unison.
And they left that planet and headed back home called 'Earth' with many questions in their heads...
