Far away
What's the distance?
nostalgia
I really want to meet you.
The incident happened because of Covid, so I came up with this crazy short story.
Thank you for coming to read.
The young man tightened his shirt to feel warmer. The fact that the weather was starting to get cold like this made him think of old things.
He smiled as he drew a picture of the view from the dormitory rooftop. If someone found out that he came out wide-eyed like this, they would definitely complain in the morning and in the evening.
But just don't let me know.
But it seemed impossible when a familiar voice rang out.
The young artist put down his sketching pencil and picked up the phone with a smile.
"Are you sitting outside?" The first greeting was no different from what I thought when the person on the other end of the line saw the sky behind.
"Today I came out to draw pictures and the atmosphere was very good." The person who was hit by a scolding voice didn't tremble, shaking the camera back and forth so that the person on the other end of the line could see the view he was seeing right now.
"The weather over there has gotten cold lately. I'm going to get sick again and I won't be able to fly to see you," the person on the other end of the line said, sounding tired.
"Oh, auntie."
"If you want Oh, you have to come give me a hug."
"Where can I go?" Yes, I can't. At the beginning, I didn't think everything would be like this. One person came to study far from home, and the other person had to work. Originally, they didn't go see each other often, especially when faced with the outbreak situation. of the virus entered, they were as if separated from each other.
The feeling of longing and missing the warmth and embrace that cannot be received.
"I'm about to cry," said the person on the other end of the line when the person far away started to cry.
"Huh, don't cry."
"Very good, go back to the room, you'll get sick." His voice softened, filled with concern. The young man packed up his things, which were only a notebook and a pencil. He tightened his shirt again when the cold wind blew. Even though it was cold, the atmosphere was very nice.
"I really want you to be here together." If the other person were there, I would probably hug him and use myself instead of the big clothes. Those arms were both firm and warm.
"I really want to go see you too." In the end, they just sighed and let the matter pass.
The young man walked back into the room and put everything away and then lay down on the bed, hugging the warm blanket. His eyes stared at the person on the other end of the line who turned to work on the computer screen with a serious face.
"This is my personal time," he said, cutting off the call from the person who contacted work without knowing the time because it wasn't that important and urgent, so he chose to keep it for now. The most important thing right now is the person you love. far away
"Did you get any rest?" he asked the person on the other end of the line, even though he already knew the answer: people who were worried about getting sick rarely took care of themselves.
"Now, here's a place to rest." He wrinkled his nose at the sweet words. That smile and the look in his eyes made me feel embarrassed as well, even though we had been together for a long time.
Thinking back, they were male students with short shorts and haircuts. There are people who tell me that I like them and will flirt with them through many ways. Like coming together until today, we are still together.
"Now, if you could go back in time, is there anything you'd like to fix?" he asked the person sitting and looking at him like he was a refuge.
"Hm, I have. If I had known that it would be like this right now, I definitely wouldn't have allowed myself to be so far away like that." He let out a laugh.
"Let me go back even further, to the first time we met."
"Do you want to go back in time today?"
"Um, what do you think?" The other end of the line pretended to think for a moment.
"If I could go back, I would probably flirt with someone a month earlier and not let anyone compete for me like that." The speaker made an unhappy face when he thought of the person who had come to compete for him because back then he was only hesitant and confused and didn't understand. He himself ended up having to miss a month. It might not actually be that long, but it would leave a deep wound for some people if they realized it sooner...
"It's gotten over." The person who had the wound smiled on the other side and was still the same person who always cared for him, pulled him up from the pain and loved him as best as a person could.
"Let's not talk about this anymore," he nodded, accepting that as he talked and asked the person on the other end of the line about the matter, the person who looked tired complained that now that they were together, they would hug him and recharge their energy to the fullest.
A person who smiles and laughs all the time becomes depressed as soon as the end of the line is cut off when the other person is taking a break.
He rolled on his bed, mentally praying that all of this would pass quickly.
I want to hug another person and fall asleep together like we did before.
Hope they meet soon.
Well, if Covid is gone
