Dead people want to tell stories.
A spooky story based on some real experiences. Try opening your mind and reading. It might make the reader feel a bit spooky. Thriller, horror, ghosts, hauntings, spirits, hair-raising, mysterious, stories, scary.

During my childhood I had a terrifying experience that I will never forget. It is a story from when I was still studying in a high school in the southern region.

My name is Win. This story happened in my second year of high school. I am another young person who is very passionate about sports. Anyone who has been through that period probably knows that the sports that teenagers tend to be interested in are football and basketball. But because the field used for practice is limited

So I was searching for a new place to play, and that's how I came to the horror story I'm about to tell.

One day after I left school and came to the school basketball court. My ears accidentally overheard the two students who had come before me talking.

“Did you know there is another basketball court here where no one plays?”

“Where is yours? I've been to almost every school here. Even in parks or stadiums there are people playing.”

“There really is another one. But the problem is that no one dares to go.”

“Why?”

“Because it was an abandoned school basketball court. I heard that he was outside the city.”

"where?"

I, who was interested in what the two of them were talking about, tried to listen intently. But almost immediately, an exclamation sounded when one of them said the name of the school.

"Hoy! I'm not going. I heard there are fierce ghosts there!!”

“Have you heard that too?”

“Oh, that's the school from Grandpa's generation. I heard that there was a fire once too. The building was old and almost completely destroyed.”

“I've heard it too. But there's also a basketball court to play on."

“Do you dare to play there? Aren't you afraid?"

"I'm afraid, but I want to go see."

"I'm not going. I don't want to cause trouble."

One of them firmly refused. Therefore, both of them gave up on the idea. But for me, after hearing all of this, I was excited and wanted to try going to that school. Not long after finishing playing basketball I immediately started inviting Ton and Nat, who are close friends who play basketball together.

“Hey, I heard there's a basketball court in an abandoned school outside the city. Are you guys interested in going to see it with me?”

“Where?” Both of them turned to ask in the same voice.

After I mentioned the name of the school I had heard about. Ton and Nut immediately lost their color.

“Shit, I'm not going. That school my mother used to tell me about. It's so scary,” Ton said.

“How are you hallucinating? I've never heard anyone tell you anything,” I replied.

“It was an old school out of town. There was news that a student and teacher also died.”

“How is it? Please tell me.”

“There used to be a prisoner who escaped from prison, ran away to hide, then took a student hostage and killed him before being specially followed by the police.”

“My father also told me about it. There used to be a teacher who slept at school in time to escape a fire in the middle of the night. It seems like it's stuck upstairs."

“Are there many deaths?”

“I don't know because it happened a long time ago. But I have heard that there are people in the area who have seen spirits wandering around inside the building that burned down.”

“Some people heard sounds like schoolchildren screaming at night.” My two friends fought over each other to tell the haunted story that everyone was talking about.

“I think, even though it sounds scary, But if we return before dark It shouldn't be anything.”

“You don't seem afraid, Win. So why don't you go alone? You can see that me and Nat are afraid."

Ton's words made me silent for a moment. My thoughts at that time were to believe and not to believe. Because no one had ever told me anything about that abandoned school. But at that time my interest wasn't in scary stories. I'm just interested in having a place to play basketball without having people competing for use of the court.

“I want to try it out. Are you guys going to be my friends?"

I noticed from their expressions and thought that they were both really scared. But in the end, I couldn't stand my persuasion because I offered to copy my homework for a week as compensation.

"Alright, I'll go, but there's a condition: I have to return before it gets dark," Ton began.

"I agree. As soon as the sun starts to set, I will return immediately."

"Okay, then let's say tomorrow after school, let's meet at the exit door." I hurriedly set out to make an appointment with the two of them.

The next day after school We met in front of the school gate at the appointed time. That day, Ton brought a motorcycle with us, which made traveling more convenient for us. We immediately started our journey towards that abandoned school. Even though it was a bit out of town, it didn't seem far away at all. In less than 20 minutes, our car was parked in front of that school.

The grass looked desolate, almost blocking the path leading into the building. I noticed that some parts of the building were missing. There are also dark marks of the wood that was previously burned. There are some floors on the building that are hallways. There seemed to be no one living around the school. It turned into a deserted place that looked quite eerie.

But my attention was more focused on the empty basketball court. Although it was old and covered in dried moss, it was only available for the three of us. We started using the field and had fun practicing until we forgot to look at the time until it was almost 6 p.m.

“Hey, I think it's better if we go back first. It's already five o'clock,” Ton greeted after looking at his watch.

“I agree, there's no sun anymore. I think I'll go back, Win."

“Can I have another ten minutes? It's having fun.”

I was enjoying playing until I lost track of time. Before I knew it, Ton threw the basketball to me, but I missed it. causing it to bounce and disappear into the grass inside the abandoned school building. We all immediately stopped.

“Let's go pick it up, Win. I don't dare go in.”

“I don't dare,” I replied, looking at Ton's face.

“So what do you want to do, Win?”

“I think they all went in. If you pick up the ball, let's go back,” Nat commented.

"Is that so? But you guys are not allowed to run, I'm afraid."

“Yes,” the two friends' voices replied almost in unison.

After the agreement is completed The three of us walked into the building. It was dark and overgrown with tall grass. I tried to cut through the grass to find a bouncing basketball, but no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find it.

"Where are you? It bounced this way."

“Hey, I think we'll go back. Let's meet again tomorrow. It's starting to get dark in here."

“But I just bought it less than a week ago. Please help me find it first.” I hurriedly begged my friend.

The three of us continued to walk through the grass. Until he stopped in front of the stairs leading up to the upper floor of the building. I raised my head to look. The condition of the school building as night fell made the atmosphere even more frightening. Try to force your mind to only think about finding the basketball. But before that I turned around and looked at the grass in the same place. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed someone's hand closing the door on the second floor.

“Hey, is there someone up there? I saw him just closing the door.”

“Iwin, please don't. This is an abandoned school. Don't say it.”

“But I actually saw the hand of the person who had just closed the door. I think we'd better try going up and asking him. In case they can see where the basketball bounces.”

“Are you crazy?! I haven't seen anyone yet." Ton started to sound harsh.

"I'm not crazy, I really see it."

I began to confirm what I had seen with my two friends. Ton and Nat could only listen to me. Didn't argue with anything. But I noticed from my friend's expression that What I saw was definitely not what I thought.

“I guess what you see is not a different person.”

“How can it not be a person? It's not dark yet. I think we'd better go up and ask him. If he looks from above he must know exactly where the ball is bouncing.”

“You go up alone. We are waiting downstairs,” Nat commented.

“Dammit, you guys, don't abandon each other. In case something happens, what should I do?”

My friends were silent and looked at each other for a while. before speaking

"Okay, up and up, but you walk ahead, Win."

After agreeing, I began walking up the old, decayed wooden stairs. A creak followed the steps of the three of us. The top of the building had things scattered all over the floor, including pictures, books, and even student tables and chairs. In front of the room where I saw someone's hand closing the door was a large hall.

There is a cabinet that holds old textbooks that are made of iron and have burnt marks. On the part of the wall that wasn't burned, there were picture frames hanging.

“Do you think it looks like a picture of a dead person? Who hung it like that?” Nat said after seeing the picture hanging on the wall.

I bent down and picked up an old picture from the floor and looked at it. It is a black and white photograph of a teacher and a group of students. Judging from the way the person in the picture dresses, he appears to be about twenty years old. "I hope it's not the same teacher Nat told me about," I muttered in my head.

While we were looking at the things scattered on the ground, suddenly there was a sound....

"Bang!!!!

The sound of a door closing came from a room in front of us. It was so loud that we were startled.

“What the fuck?!” The three of us cursed loudly. We were so shocked that we couldn't move. Silence replaced I began to feel bad about what had just happened. If someone closed the door with this loud noise It shows that he is definitely angry about something.

“Hello~ Is there anyone inside?” In the silence, I decided to speak up. But there was no response from the room we intended to go see.

“Win, I say go back. I'm starting to feel bad." Nat started to tremble. The surrounding atmosphere began to demoralize us.

"Then I'd better knock on the room."

"Hey, are you serious, Win?"

“Yes,” I answered my friend and walked quickly towards that room. As I was about to knock on the door, there was a loud voice coming from the stairs we had walked up.

“What are you guys doing?!”

That sound made us all flinch again. It was a man's voice, deep and hoarse, but with a hint of displeasure in his tone.

The three of us looked up from the balcony and down at the front of the steps. Saw a thin, red-skinned, older man looking up at us from the room next to the stairs.

“Sorry, Uncle. I just wanted to come up and ask for help. I don't know if you know anyone who lives here or not?”

I wasn't sure if the man I called Uncle could hear me. Because at that time the man only stood and stared at us. I could feel the utmost dissatisfaction in their eyes.

“Win, he doesn't seem friendly at all. I think we'll go back today. It's better to come and find another day. There probably won't be anyone coming through here to take it away.” Ton frowned.

“I agree with Ton, Win. You look at his uncle's eyes. It's like you're angry at someone. When I saw it, my heart felt bad.”

Ton and Nat began to urge me to return. Probably because I was starting to get scared too so I agreed.

"Alright then, I'm starting to feel like I can't take it anymore."

The three of us nodded and turned around and walked towards the stairs. But in the meantime The sound of the old door suddenly sounded. This time it was the sound of someone opening the door. I turned around and looked back because I had followed my friend out as the last one to come out. But what I saw was that the door was opened and no one came out. What exactly is this?

My fear began to make the hairs on my body stand on end. I hurriedly followed behind my two friends without saying anything.

We stopped in front of the stairs. Our eyes were now looking at the same black man standing below. The moment we walked down the stairs The man turned and walked straight into the room next to the stairs. I hurriedly walked down the stairs and followed him into the room, hoping to call for help.

“Wait a minute, Uncle. We would like to request....”

My voice stopped as soon as I stepped into the room. Ton and Nat, who were following me closely, looked at each other in awe.

"Hoy! Where has your uncle gone?”

"That's right. I just saw you walk in here."

Inside the room were student desks stacked on top of each other. The blocked windows made the room darker than it should have been. Only the light that shines through the door allows us to see the conditions inside the room. Even though everything looks normal But where has that uncle gone????

"Here you go." Nat looked like she was about to cry now. I myself was so stunned that I couldn't say anything.

"I told you not to come here~~~~"

By now our fear had begun to increase to the point where we could hardly control ourselves. Ton and Nut turned their backs to hurry outside. But when I was about to turn back My eyes fell on something deep in the corner of the room.

On an old table Shadows began to appear, and by this time my hair was standing up all over my body. What I saw in front of me was the body of a person with dirt stains on his shirt and pants. But above the shoulder is emptiness.

I couldn't believe my eyes. The figure standing in the darkness was "headless."

"Headless ghost!!!!!!!"

Fear nearly knocked me to my feet. His body was trembling and he was covered in sweat. I shouted loudly. My cry made both of my friends turn around and soon they both broke out and shouted in response.

"Win, run!!!!!!" Ton's voice rang through his ears. I knew I had to run but my legs couldn't move. Just barely able to maintain consciousness.

Tonkong knew that I was probably shocked by what we saw. He immediately grabbed my arm from behind and pulled me out of the room. Nat, who was running ahead, saw the two of us escaping in trouble, so he turned around and held my arm on the other side. The three of us ran out of the room and towards the parked motorcycle.

"Damn Win, wake up. You don't faint yet!!!" That was the last sound I heard before I lost consciousness...

I woke up again in the hospital. With his parents and two friends standing beside the bed.

"Win, are you awake?" Mother's voice called out my name.

"Mom~~~" I couldn't speak, I only remembered that I couldn't stop crying.

"My child is okay. Just shocked to the point of unconsciousness,” my father said.

"Mother received a phone call from Ton. Said the child was unconscious and at the hospital. So my mother hurried over."

I pulled away from my mother and turned to look for Ton and Nut who were standing at the foot of the bed.

"What's wrong with me?"

"Don't you remember? You were so frightened that you lost consciousness. I and Einat helped you to get on the motorcycle and drive out."

"So how are you guys? "

“I'm still okay, but Inat seems to be hallucinating as well. When we arrived at the hospital, he cried like you do now.”

“I told you guys not to go. You don't believe me." Natsu's voice rang out.

My father and mother, who were sitting next to me, overheard our conversation. So I asked for the whole story. Which I told you about.

“From now on, absolutely do not enter that school again, Win. Father strictly forbids this."

My father stood firm. To which my friend and I accepted the promise.

"Not again, Winsanya."

Several days later, we tried to find information until we found out. The man we saw as a prominent name (pseudonym) was a janitor and lived at that school before it was abandoned. One day, he was unlucky enough to see drug smugglers while he was out inspecting order, so he was killed and silenced. His body was found about two weeks later. The condition of the body was that the throat had been cut.

Officers found his head buried in the same grass where my basketball bounced. I think it was because we were annoying him that he was so angry that he had to come out and show himself.

From the events of that day, the three of us never talked about that abandoned school again……
