tight! tight! tight!
Rowan flies the helicopter towards Caud Island. A large island covered in ice which corresponds to the point reported by Lewis or his friend. He slowly brought the helicopter down to the edge of the island. He stomped his feet on the island. An icy feeling gnawed at his skin. Rowan's surroundings were covered in snow and ice.
He could see some ruins of the ancient city, but not much from this point of view. And another remnant that didn't seem like it belonged in the past, but was something Rowan was familiar with. That was his friend Lewis' helicopter.
tight! tight! tight!
“Wow, are these really all your works?” said Victor, an 11-year-old boy in the museum's antiques exhibit.
“That's right, all my works,” said Lewis, the owner of the exhibit called ‘ Adventure with Lewis ’, proudly saying.
“Wow, that's amazing.” Victor looked at the various antiques lined up in the display in amazement. Every piece is wrapped in premium safety glass. which is no worry about theft
“Where did you get this horn from?” Victor pointed at a large black horn. Standing tall on the display case
“Oh,” Lewis replied, “It comes from an ancient tribe in the Amazon Forest.”
“Awesome, how did you get it?”
“Uh……” Lewis stopped thinking for a moment and picked up the phone, unlocked it, and brought it to his ear. “I just received an urgent call. I'll tell you next time.” Lewis walked away while pretending to be talking on the phone.
Victor had a puzzled expression on his face and looked at Lewis who had walked away. Victor then walked to another part of the museum.
Lewis sighed and put his mobile phone into his pocket. Later, he felt a gentle nudge on his shoulder.
“What?” said a voice from behind Lewis. He quickly turned around and smiled at the owner of the voice. That is Fatima, who joins him in the treasure hunt and who also shares in his joys and sorrows.
They kissed each other softly before smiling at each other again.
“These days are boring, aren't they?” Fatima said.
“Let's get some rest. Will our lives always be exciting?” Lewis replied.
“Well, I want to go on an adventure. Staying at home and constantly going to work like this is going to be boring.”
“How did you get this?” A voice came from behind the two of them.
They both turned in unison to see a girl in a yellow raincoat. The veil covered half of her face. Revealing only the mouth She stood in front of the entrance to Lewis's exhibit. and pointed to the big horn that Victor had asked Lewis about.
“Uh.........” Lewis was speechless.
“It is the horn of the Wawd Tribe in the Amazon Forest,” said the girl in the raincoat. “It belongs to their ancestors and no one can take it. No matter how much valuable property it is being offered.”
“Uh...who are you?” Fatima said.
“And this one,” the girl in the raincoat pointed to a green emerald ring. “It came from a villager in the Mara Islands. It is something that is set up for worship. It is of a high level. It is believed that the Mara people are there to pray for what they want. and it is believed that because of this ring This allows the Mara Islands to remain safe until today.”
The girl pulled the head guard down lower than before. “How did you get it?”
“Who are you?” Lewis said loudly.
“Do you guys think you are successful on your own?” The girl continued, ignoring Lewis' question. “Do you know what this has brought to your fame? It's hurting other people." The girl pointed out. “You take something important away from other people. And I know that they did not consent as well as you wrote in your book.”
“Here you are.” Lewis pointed at the girl. “You can leave now. Otherwise, I will have the security guard come and drag you away.”
The girl in the raincoat revealed a small smile on her lips. before turning and walking away and disappearing into the crowd of people in the museum.
“That's really crazy,” Lewis turned to complain to Fatima. “If I see him again.....”
“What if this story gets exposed?” Fatima whispered.
“No one believes it. His demeanor was that of a mentally ill child.”
Jingle jingle
“Hello,” Lewis said after answering Tyler's phone. His close friend and expedition companion while lying in bed with Fatima, “Called at 10:00 p.m. It must have been something important.”
“That's right, friend. I got the news from a friend of mine who is an archaeologist. About gems that no one has ever discovered."
"Hmm....interesting. Tell me more."
“This gem once belonged to the people of Geklee who lived in the Count Island. It's an icy island that's known for being very cold,” Tyler continued. “The gem was originally owned by a king of the Kekli people. Normally, this island would normally trade and exchange with surrounding islands or even cities. But that was 80 years ago.”
“So what happened?”
“Suddenly this island became quiet, there was no contact. Someone had once gone in to investigate what had happened. But they never came back to tell me about it again.”
“Then you brought up the matter of gems. So that means.”
“Yes.” Lewis saw Tyler smile. Even though he couldn't see his friend's face. “The gem must be there. My friend who is an archaeologist said that If someone could go and get it. Its price will change that person's life from the upside down. That person will be comfortable for the rest of his life.”
“And don't you think that those who went to explore that island have disappeared? Why didn't you come back? Why are the Gekli people suddenly so uncommunicative?”
“Are you afraid, Lewis?”
Lewis took a deep breath, “What? I'm afraid, I have so many relics and gems in my possession. Plus, more than half have already been sold. Honestly, the money I have isn't enough for the rest of my life.”
"I mean, you're not going to take this job, are you?"
“I've had enough, friend.”
“Alright, I really want to go alone. But if you don't go with me, I'll be in terrible trouble. Okay, I'm not bothering you anymore, friend. That's it."
Tyler hung up the phone. Lewis put down the phone and turned to his wife, Fatima, who was staring at him in bed.
“Tyler has more work to do,” Fatima said.
“Yes, but I already refused.” Lewis pulled up the cloth and turned off the lamp at the head of the bed. I've had enough. Retiring at 40 isn't ugly.”
Fatima sighed. “What thrill is there in spending money every day?” Fatima said from the darkness of her bedroom. “Don't you remember when I said I was bored? I want to go on an adventure.”
“Remember.”
“So you won't indulge me? This is our life.”
“I'm beginning to wonder if we really are thieves.”
“Because of that kid in the raincoat.”
“Maybe it is.”
“Does it make you feel guilty?”
"yes"
Fatima said nothing more. She could only try to close her eyes to sleep and prepare for another boring morning.
The next morning, Lewis woke up at 6:00 a.m. without seeing his wife lying next to him. He felt very surprised. Because his wife usually wouldn't wake up this early if she didn't have anything to do. He hurriedly got out of bed and walked down to the kitchen to find his wife sitting on the dining table and had just removed the mobile phone from her ear.
“Don't tell me you called Tyler just now.”
“Yes,” Fatima replied softly. “The Kekhlin people are probably all gone extinct, Lewis. If you listen to what Tyler said.”
“Then why did it become extinct? She thought she would just enter a deserted island. And then go get the gems like that?”
“Yes, how difficult will it be?”
“The previous people who went in disappeared. Don't you think it's dangerous?”
“If you don't go, I'll go with Tyler and the two of you.”
Lewis was speechless after Fatima's latest sentence. He was silent and turned and walked back to his bedroom. Leaving Fatima sitting on the kitchen chair alone.
“That's it, Count Island,” Tyler said as he sat in the helicopter, looking at the large ice island ahead.
“Bigger than I thought,” Fatima said.
“Then I'll land on the open island over there. On the way back, you will be able to see easily,” said Lewis, who finally agreed to come. Said from the position of helicopter driver.
The helicopter landed slowly on the most exposed part of the island. Fatima slowly stepped out of the helicopter. Looking at the island surrounded by mountains and steep hills She noticed ancient ruins dotted around her. She guessed that in the past it must have been very beautiful, but now it is broken and there are no good pieces left.
Lewis got out of the helicopter with Tyler. They could feel the cold biting their skin even though they were wearing winter coats.
Fatima noticed Lewis' worried expression and said, “Everything will be fine, darling.” Fatima grabbed Lewis's shoulder. “Like we've always been through it.”
Lewis nodded to Fatima, but the worry on his expression did not fade at all.
“So where do we start?” Tyler said.
“Let's go through the ruins first,” Lewis said. “From what you heard, the gem is probably in the part that used to be the king's castle. Therefore, if we keep following these pieces of debris, we should be able to find them easily.”
“Is there a castle in an iceberg like this?” Fatima said, looking around.
They walked along following the traces of the building. Fatima walked over, tightening her coat close to her body due to the coldness of the place. And after getting through the goosebumps, they arrived at a large white castle in the middle of the island. It was a carefully crafted castle.
Tyler took the lead to explore the interior and was amazed at its beauty. He spun around as he admired the Gekli people's abilities.
“This is awesome,” Tyler said. “The people who disappeared probably because it was so beautiful they didn't want to go home.”
Lewis looked at Tyler with a look that said he wasn't funny either.
“Where will the gem be?” said Fatima.
“Probably in the king's chamber,” Tyler continued. “It must be upstairs,” Tyler pointed at the blue and white spiral staircase that led to the upper level.
“Let's hurry and go back.” Lewis led them up the stairs.
When the three of them climbed the stairs, they reached the top floor. He found a room with a throne at the far end of the room. They walked through the old carpet to the throne. Until Lewis noticed a room behind the throne. He went to open it but found it locked.
“Move over Lewis,” Tyler said, “It's me.”
Tyler walked over and kicked the door hard three times before it opened. And the second the door slid open They found the king's bedroom. It is beautifully decorated even though everything in the room looks old. But what caught their eye the most was the treasure chest placed next to the king's bed.
The three of them went straight to the front of the treasure chest.
“I'll open it,” Fatima said. Then she used a special key made just for her job. This key has a mechanism that can unlock anything in the world. It is therefore worth up to 5 million dollars per interest.
Crack!
Fatima used both hands to slowly open the treasure chest. The three of them poked their heads together to look at the contents of the trunk. and were stunned by what they saw
“There's nothing here,” Fatima said.
“Where exactly are the gems?” Tyler said.
“Let's go back,” Lewis said in a calm tone.
“But we made it all the way here!” Tyler shouted.
“Well, there's nothing here!” Lewis snorted.
“But there must be other places.”
“Greed will make you miserable, Tyler.”
tight! tight! tight!
The three of them fell silent after hearing something hit the ground loudly. They felt the vibrations of it. Tyler turned his head to look at Lewis and Fatima.
“What is that sound?”
“I don't know,” Fatima said in a panic.
“It's getting closer,” Lewis said, shaking Fatima's hand. “Let's hurry and go.”
But before getting out A gigantic eye suddenly revealed itself to them in the window of the room they were in. They were stunned and shocked by what they saw. His red eyes swept over the three of them.
“Hey!” Tyler shouted. “What the fuck?”
But Lewis didn't wait. He immediately grabbed Fatima's arm and ran. They quickly ran down the spiral staircase from the top floor to the ground floor. But, something unexpected happened. Tyler, who had followed last, stumbled in his hurry. He fell down the stairs before reaching the last ten steps. He rolled down and let out a loud wail that echoed throughout the castle.
“Oh!!! My legs.” Tyler lay holding his legs. “My leg is broken Lewis, please help me.”
Lewis saw this and helped Tyler up and carried him in a firefighter's position. The three of them ran out of the castle without even looking behind them. The sound of the giant creature's footsteps continued to get closer. They ran with all their might. But because Lewis had to carry Tyler with him, he could run very slowly.
Until finally, Lewis tripped on a piece of ice on the ground and fell. causing Tyler, who was on Lewis' shoulder, to fall violently to the ground.
"Oh!!!" Tyler moaned and held his leg again.
Fatima stopped running when she saw them both fall. Lewis hurriedly stood up and looked at Tyler. and turned to look at the two large feet that were coming towards them. Lewis turned around and looked at Tyler's face again.
“You wanted to come yourself, I'm sorry,” Lewis said, grabbing Fatima by the wrist and running quickly. Fatima saw this and was extremely shocked. She turned to look at Tyler with a startled expression and ran after Lewis' pull.
"Hoy! Wait!” Tyler shouted loudly. He shouted until he forgot the pain in his leg. “Wait a minute, you damn bastard, come back and help me!”
tight! tight! tight!
A gigantic black shadow covered the area where Tyler lay in pain. He slowly turned his head to look at this monster's expression, trembling with fear. The expression in his eyes right now was extremely unwatchable. The monster gently picked up Tyler with its hands. Then he bit Tyler's head. Its teeth smashed into Tyler's skull, shattering it. before it swallowed Tyler whole next.
Lewis and Fatima ran up to their helicopter. But they saw what they most didn't want to see. Because now their helicopter was crumpled and flattened like a crushed tin can.
“Aw, what are we going to do?” Fatima was agitated.
Lewis took out a round tool from his bag. It was a tool for sending coordinates to Rowan for events like this. Rowan is like a backup plan and a person for when Lewis gets stuck or hits a dead end or anything that prevents him from returning home. Lewis always used this tool to send coordinates to Rowan.
“In the meantime, we need to find a place to hide first. Waiting for Rowan to come pick us up.” Lewis grabbed Fatima by the shoulder.
“Where should I hide? In an ice island like this.”
Lewis ran Fatima to the helicopter's debris. “Can we get under the helicopter debris?”
“Or should we bury the pile of snow?”
Lewis thought for a moment and sighed, “Hey, how did you think he found us at the castle?”
“That's right. It's impossible to know. Where will we be? Or even where in the castle it is.”
“Because I know,” came a voice from behind the rocks. As a result, both of them turned to look. He meets a girl in a yellow raincoat. The same child they met in the museum. She walked out and showed off a large red gem in her palm.
“Are you looking for this one?” the girl revealed with a smile. Among faces whose eyes cannot be seen as before
“Here you are.” Lewis pointed at the girl. “Who exactly are you?” Lewis asked, his expression as shocked as Fatima's.
“Ask him,” the girl pointed to a gigantic hand reaching towards Fatima. He grabbed Fatima's legs until she floated up. Lewis saw this and grabbed Fatima's arm.
“No!” Lewis shouted, he was now pulling Fatima to fight the giant beast. The monster that had just eaten Tyler a few minutes ago. Now Fatima is like a rope used in a tug-of-war. The contestants are her husband pulling her arms and a giant monster pulling her legs. But the winning and losing results must be void.
This was because Fatima's body had been divided in two by the force of the pull. That monster quickly devoured Fatima's lower body right before Lewis's eyes. Leaving only his wife's upper body to be seen. Fatima looked at her husband one last time before he finally died.
He looked up at the beast and for the first time he could clearly see its face. It was about 60 meters tall, had red eyes, was bald, and had a white beard that stretched all the way to its chest. Its teeth and mouth were very strange. It was like it was smiling, but only the curve of that smile was upside down.
The girl in the raincoat was no longer standing next to the rock. Now there's only him left. and this giant beast stood staring at each other among the icebergs on the island. He had forgotten the cold weather. There was only a coldness in his heart because of the events that had happened in his life today.
