Beautiful or not beautiful....

This matter happened about a month ago. But I just thought of something. Sometimes some things need time.

After the exam is finished I have a day off to rest before I have to go back to school. In fact, I'd rather stay home and rest as I've been studying for exams for many days. But because I had accidentally promised my friend that I would go on a trip with him. In the end, the promise must be kept. And because of this promise, my world became a little wider.

We promised each other that we would go see the exhibition.

It is an exhibition that gives visitors the opportunity to experience the experiences of visually impaired people. The exhibition takes place in a completely dark room with no light at all. Closed eyes and open eyes, there is no difference. There is a maze of walkways. and there are corners simulating various locations In the city, let us learn that normally the visually impaired "see"

What are these places like? What observation methods were used to be able to stay in those places without danger?

That was the first time I knew true darkness. And it was also the first time that I was aware of my surroundings. without the visual senses being involved Or, to be more precise, there is no "appearance" involved.

Overall, it was a good experience. Gain knowledge about the lifestyle of the visually impaired, which includes small details that sometimes we never noticed or wondered about. and also tested other senses of oneself to see how effective it is, which is to feel mostly with your hands, some with ears, some with nose, you name it.

Like me, at first I found myself not correctly estimating the distance from the sound. When the guide gives a sound signal indicating the location I always walked past and bumped into him. Other than that, it was a feeling that was quite inconceivable. The darkness was not as uncomfortable as I first thought. And the activities inside are also diverse. Nothing was like I had imagined.

The most interesting part was at the last point of the exhibition, the "bar in the dark" where we were able to buy drinks and snacks (even though we couldn't see them) and, most importantly, had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the tour guide.

The tour guide who helped us walk all the way. Advising on the use of wood Tell us stories and navigate with ease. Actually, I am a visually impaired person.

I and my friends and seniors who went to the exhibition on the same trip asked the tour guide a lot of questions. Since it's an ordinary thing "How do you know which bank is which?" to personal questions such as "When did you become blind? Why?" and strange questions like "Do you remember anything about colors?"

The tour guide answered every question very well. There was no expression of embarrassment or displeasure at all. Just answer normally. (I guess I get asked this often. I'm used to it.) But we assume that we have come to learn to understand. If you don't ask now, when will you ask? I'm afraid that I will definitely not know for the rest of my life.

Talking with the guide was very fun. One person in our group even teased the tour guide saying, "Now I see you are very beautiful."

The tour guide laughed. Then he replied while laughing, "Yes, everyone is beautiful."

At that time we were laughing and laughing. Teasing the male friends in the group together I didn't think much of it. But at that moment I just realized. After following the guide for a full hour, I still didn't know what he looked like. When someone brought this issue up, I started to wonder. At first I felt sorry that I wouldn't be able to see it anymore.

Because the exhibition is very dark. But because the tour guide walked us to the dimly lit exit entrance. I was able to catch a glimpse of him.

The guide was an ordinary uncle, short and rather fat. And there was a smiling face and a pair of closed eyes.

I can't tell if it's the same or not as I thought. Because I couldn't see before, I didn't bother to imagine what he was like. When I saw it, I just saw it. I didn't think anything further.

After many more days... For many days, I saw a scene in a drama about a blind hero that made me think about it again. And I thought I'd say When we don't see the outside. It's good too.

That doesn't mean the eyes can't see and it's good. But when you can't see the facts about your appearance disappear.

And when we don't see If you don't recognize it, it's not important. It has become something that does not require much attention.

Thinking like this, a question arose: So, do you agree that appearance is really important? What's the difference between seeing and not seeing? And let's just say it doesn't matter that much. Is it possible for us to ignore it? Even if it's visible?

Up to this point, I still can't answer myself. Every time I see a celebrity or a cartoon hero, I still feel like "he's handsome" (haha).

However, even after seeing it, we still can't help but give importance to it. I still think that appearance isn't something we should pay too much attention to. An hour in a dark room taught me that just hearing a sound I just talked to him. I still felt admired and impressed by the guide.

There is more to the identity of the guide in the dark room. "An ordinary uncle" and from this fact Therefore, it can be concluded that appearance is not an important factor. And because of that How can you not cut it off completely? At least it should be considered last. Pay little attention to it.

We may discover something valuable that we have always overlooked. Or we may find that what we thought was really good was actually nothing special, worthy of a little effort. You may find that many times we have given wrong importance to things. Finally, when I tried to cut it off, I couldn't see where it would die.

Nowadays, because we see and pay too much attention to what we see, we don't care about it, we don't expect it, and in the end we regret it. When what you see is not what you think

I'm thankful for the promise I made to my friend so sloppily. Until I had the opportunity to meet and learn about another aspect of life.

This experience is valuable. Even though I, who can see well and have been living life as a sighted person for over ten years, cannot say that I truly understand life in a dark world. But at least I found out. If someday we find that this world is deceitful and cruel To get to know it again from a different angle, try "closing your eyes" and we might be able to "see" a new world that is different from before.
