Potion & Recipes – Gypsy Heart
Sometimes people can't force certain things to happen the way we want them to, especially if the word 'heart' is involved in that matter. Like Librarian Benton said, Stopping your heart from falling in love is more difficult than sending the Bible through the eye of a needle. Go fall in love with the charming Queen Cleopatra. Therefore, how can ordinary people who are very malleable like us resist the power of love?
Even so, I, Meg Deverton, the only seventeen-year-old girl at school who considers Librarian Benton a kindly old lady, will pledge my vows in front of Stanberg High School's puma statue: No matter how good or bad it gets, this Meg will never let this little heart outrun her brain like Georgia and Zach did.
My mother always told me that I was at the age where I should study hard. and see learning as important I also saw the good in that until one day Georgia came up to me and told me. She is in love with the school's American football player named Zach Cunningham. I just dismissed her like that because I didn't think it was something worth paying attention to. Maybe the feelings Georgia was feeling at that time were just the excitement of a young girl like the librarian. Benton once said it could be.
But who would have thought that one day a third-year girl who was in love with a young man who was considered one of the school's A-listers would actually become his girlfriend!
I'm serious, I'm not kidding, this is how things are.
I knew Lyric because he walked up to me and asked me what the name of the brown-haired girl who was studying algebra next to me was. Shocked, I was also a level 10 A-lister at school and walked up to greet her. A slut like me left me with no choice but to open my mouth.
It took nearly a minute before he asked again with a look of irritation in his eyes. You could say I was annoyed, so I blurted out like a careless person:
'Georgia McKenzie, house number twenty-nine over ten, Red Soi. East Wood, White Ash Road, Telephone Number Five five five zero one two one!'
How are you? Really cool!
Lyric was silent for a moment, which goes without saying. He was thinking hard. Was I right in choosing to ask this crazy girl? Just a few minutes later he said to me, His best friend Zach is also falling in love with Georgia!
I just nodded my head in an orderly manner, not knowing how to respond to the situation that was escalating. Well, that's right. When did he tell me he liked me? Lyric thanked me for Georgia's phone number that I accidentally said. He said Zach must have been delighted that he was able to get it for this young lover.
And after one night, I didn't know exactly what had happened to Georgia and Zach. The next thing I knew, our school newspaper ran an urgent headline:
'shock! Bachelorette, Zach C., the hottest young A-lister
Read per page 15'
These two are rated to become Stanberg's sweet and sassy couple in just one week along with the girls. Nearly half the school is heartbroken by Zach's new love. Let me tell you, I wasn't the only one wondering why Georgia and Zach's romance happened so quickly because it wasn't long before the young A-lister publicly announced that he was I'm actually dating my best friend.
Many Stanbergers joined in their comments and criticisms, noting that since the two of them had been making out, no fast-eyed photographer had captured the photo.
I just sat there, my lips aching, wanting to say, 'Oh, actually, they've only known each other for one night.' Unfortunately, my friendly instincts made me just keep my mouth shut and let the roses grow. that the two of them worked together to grow as they both dreamed
But that's not the point that makes me sit and frown like an idiot, it's because the first rose bush that once grew so well as if it had received high-quality fertilizer is now withering so heavily that You may die the day after tomorrow.
Lyric approached me, slammed the door to my locker and threw me today's newspaper. I looked at him without understanding before slowly moving my eyes down to look at the letters.
“‘Shame on Olivia S., her high heel breaks on the basketball court.’” I opened my mouth and read the headline loudly before looking up at the young man next to me, not understanding.
The other party sighed heavily. He snatched the newspaper from my hand and folded it in half and handed it back. “I mean this news.”
“'Girls, get ready to cheer Zach, Georgia's love story...' Oh my gosh!!” I shrieked at the news coming so quickly and raised my free hand to cover my mouth before turning to the truth and having sex with a man. boy “Georgia said nothing to me.”
“Zach hasn't told me anything either,” Lyric replied. “I think they might not have broken up yet. It's just that there might be a problem.”
“It's a big problem!” I handed the newspaper back to the man. Before rushing to the school cafeteria, the only place Georgia usually left before her first class, I walked over to her regular desk. It appears to be true or not, close to what the newspaper headlines say. Because if it's normal
Georgia would often sit there with Zach with a bowl of salad. Two muffins and two cans of Diet Coke, but today there was only a young woman sitting with her back to the entrance and three muffin wrappers and a small bowl of salad. Spaghetti and meatballs with bits left over, a can of regular Coke and three cups of chocolate ice cream
I told you it was a 'big' problem.
“Hmph! Muffins, spaghetti, coke and…three more ice creams. That's not normal." I teased before sitting down next to my best friend.
“Oh Meg! I'm not in the mood to joke around right now,” the woman huffed, before pressing her two eyes that still had traces from crying heavily onto her palms.
Not sure if I've ever said that I'm not very good at comforting people. I like to be the one to come up with solutions or solve them. Rather than patting each other's backs and repeating the same sentences over and over again. Like 'It's okay, you'll get over it' or 'Oh dear, that's a normal part of life. I'm so sorry.' Please, it's not me.
“Okay, now do you want to tell me what happened between you and that lover?”
“I…I…” Georgia faltered, causing someone like me who wanted to know the worst of the matter to raise her eyebrows in question. Georgia let out a loud sigh. Huh! Before looking down at the ice cream that was melting until it was a mess and answering. “I caught him cheating!”
“Oh my God!” She was a four-eyed girl who, from the time she was born until she was seventeen years old, had never had a boyfriend with anyone. But I can guess that How much will a woman's honest, loyal little heart be hurt when she finds out her boyfriend is having an affair? So I don't blame Georgia at all if she even thought of leaving this handsome A-lister. But let this full-blown flirt slip away.”
How dare he do this to her? Damn it! I can't believe it!!”
“I can't believe it!” Georgia turned back to me, her eyes starting to glow red. “But Meg! Someone sent me a picture of him kissing Amber, how can you not believe me?!”
“Amber?” I asked, unfamiliar.
“Miss Amber, who is a cheerleader at school,” the other person's eyes visibly reddened, “You know that athletes and cheerleaders go hand in hand!!”
“I understand, Georgia, I understand.” …I don't understand and I never thought I would.
Sorry, a day spent in school consisted of only the library, classrooms, bathrooms, cafeteria, and library. I had never spent a single dime on the school newspaper, and this is how I understood the story. How are athletes and cheerleaders doing that?
“And now I…I… Oh, Meg, what am I going to do?!” Georgia let out a loud gasp. He leaned down and kissed me until the sleeve of my shirt was completely soaked. The students sitting at the tables around me We turned to look at each other suspiciously. Someone secretly picked up the school newspaper. Then he turned and whispered to his own friends, just as he had said.
I'm not much of a comforter and Georgia had never cried so helplessly like this. So I couldn't do anything but raised my hand awkwardly like that. I don't know if I should pat my head for comfort or pat my back.
I turned my eyes to Lyric, who was slowly approaching the two of us, his eyes filled with sympathy and pity. He froze slightly as he approached before opening his mouth.
“Georgia, I'm sorry about this, but Zach—”
“But Zack!!” Georgia springs to her feet to face Lyric, who is about three inches taller than her, and scolds him so loudly that the other person is slightly taken aback. “Your friend cheated on me. What do you want me to do? Forgive him?!”
“I was about to say—”
“Please tell him that Have fun with that girl to the fullest extent!!!” Georgia pushed Lyric so hard that he lurched slightly before running out of the cafeteria that was now in silence.
Lyric's mouth hung open just as wide. with me while giving him a look that asked, 'What the fuck is wrong with your friend?!' or 'What the hell is going on?!' or something like that if I'm not mistaken.
I got up and wanted to run after Georgia, but was stopped by someone.
“Wait a minute, Meg,” said the young man, “I think we have to do something.”
I turned to look at his face, not understanding at all. What exactly does he want to do? “Like go after Georgia. So how do you calm her down?” I continued.
“It's not like that. I think we need to work together.”
“Let's work together to comfort Georgia from her broken heart,” I said before turning around and continuing walking. But still he was held back again.
“I mean working together to reconcile those two.”
Okay, this is getting really crazy. My friend is heartbroken and crying to death. Moreover, she also became a cynical subject of society because this man's friend secretly cheated on her even though she That she didn't do anything wrong. But this man came back and told me Let me help poor Georgia get back together with a terrible man who is worse than the cobwebs in the bookcase?!
“Don't you see that? Zak cheated on her!”
“I know! But Zach didn't intend to do that. He doesn't want to break up with Georgia,” Lyric corrected.
“Huh! So what's wrong with your friend? Are you a bird? That's why you thought about dating many women at a time."
Lyric shook his head wearily at my words but apologized. I didn't say anything wrong. “Listen Meg, I know you're mad at your friend, but Zach was just teasing Georgia. He didn't intend for things to turn out like this. …Don't you know that Georgia still likes Zach?”
I listened to the truth uncertainly but nodded and answered the question.
Is that so ironic for Georgia? Why must Zack be so sarcastic?
Lyric stretched out his hands and firmly grabbed both of my shoulders before speaking with a serious tone and expression. “Then we have to work together to bring everything back to the way it was before, okay?”
Just say it. Now I'm not sure whose fault this is. Georgia told me that Zach was cheating on her with a cheerleader named Amber. But Lyric told me that Zak was insulting Georgia by flirting with Amber. Because Georgia has 'changed'
First of all Georgia didn't call. Look for him every night like in the old days, when he calls. Going to find her, she avoided talking, unlike before when the two of them usually spent at least a couple of hours. Second, Georgia has refused to have ice cream evenings with Zach for two weeks. Third,
Georgia refuses to reply to Zach's message. Fourth, Georgia always deflects the topic when they start talking about their usual weekend dates. And fifth, most serious, Georgia "eyes" other men. !
I don't know if this is true or not, but I haven't seen Georgia mentioned anywhere about the guy. We often talk about general things like homework, fashion, or the new movie. As for the second point, I think this is true because of the recent past. The two of us walked home together so often that I didn't even notice. Is your friend 'changing'?
“Trust me, you need to stop being stuck in the library with that mean-ass librarian,” Lyric joked, but I wasn't amused as we made our way to the flower shop. One on White Ash Road
We agreed to meet in front of the school after school. Then help each other come up with a plan that will reconcile the two of them or at least improve their understanding. It's good that I agree with this plan, not because Zak is not at fault, because in principle he's just known for being unfaithful. He deserves to be punished in full.
It was, but it was because Georgia acted despondent all day, causing the people sitting next to her to study. Like I don't have the heart or mind to study as well. It's different from when the two of them just started dating from the beginning.
“I just volunteered to help Librarian Benton put the books back in place every evening, just so I didn't get stuck there,” I pursed my lips. “And besides, Librarian Benton is a kind person, not some kind of 'stern aunt'. What you said was a bit of a waste.”
Lyric rolled his eyes, "Whatever."
His answer made me roll my eyes in disgust.
We stopped in front of what was known as the only flower shop on White Ash Road. I've never been here before. As you know I've never had a boyfriend, and when I did there were free bookmarks in bookstores. I didn't have to find flowers to dry and put them in books, so flower shops weren't really my type. If it's a bookstore or library, say so.
“Is this the shop you said?” I asked as a tree house appeared in front of me. We had to walk almost to the end of the road before reaching this shop. The surrounding area was decorated with flowers and various kinds of trees, but there was only a large tree that stood tall in the center of the area. On the top of the trunk was a small wooden house. A cute one was built with a thick rope ladder hanging from it. Below was a van that was so worn out that it couldn't be used anymore.
At first glance, this car might appear to be an ordinary family car. But when I looked deeper, the inside was filled with many flowers placed all around the car. I walked closer to the car and couldn't believe that this place... There really is a shop like this.
I think maybe I should ignore those myths and open my eyes like Lyric said.
“Probably here.”
"What do you mean 'likely'? I thought you'd been here before?" I asked.
Lyric shook his head. "Just heard Zach talk about it," he said before reaching out and sliding the car door open.
The inside of the store didn't look as claustrophobic as the outside. As I looked around the store, two not-so-large refrigerated cabinets were positioned behind the bar counter between the entrance door and the other wall. On the bus, vases of various colors and sizes were lined up in various corners. The front window of the car had so many Dream Catchers that it hung so low that you could barely see the atmosphere outside. Next to the entrance door was a small wooden table.
Supporting the golden-colored variable-mouth record player that was slowly rotating around itself while releasing rhythmic music, the long-haired girl with ginger hair looked up from the thick book before giving her a soft smile and speaking. Hello
"welcome Interested in flower bouquets? Is it better to use a vase to arrange flowers or a basket?”
“We want a bouquet of flowers,” Lyric said first.
“I don't know what kind of flower you want,” the woman asked, turning to pick up a small notebook and a pen to take notes.
Lyric suggests that We should have the two of them sit down and talk to each other to find out what they think: the ice cream shop that they both like to go to would be a good choice. I agreed and suggested that we maybe find a bouquet of flowers for Zach to take to Georgia. You know that men don't pay attention to the little details.
But it's so romantic like this. The only thing they do is be stubborn. It's not that being stubborn is bad. But I think that if you add sweet techniques like beautiful flowers, Or add a small necklace and everything will be easier.
Therefore, if we want to please someone, we have to choose things that person likes, such as Georgia's favorite sunflowers.
“Sunflower / Rose,” Lyric and I said at the same time, giving different answers. The two of us immediately turned to look at each other.
“Sunflower, please. Trust me,” I confidently persuaded. If it's a bouquet of sunflowers Georgia will definitely love it.
“But women like roses,” Lyric frowned.
“But Georgia likes sunflowers,” I protested defiantly. Must be sunflowers!
“But Georgia is a 'woman',” Lyric shrugged.
I rolled my eyes in disbelief at this man's thoughts. Who was he to say that? Girls only like roses. Sorry, I'm a girl. And I'm a girl who knows that. Georgia must love sunflowers.
“You don't know anything. Where roses bloom in autumn, let's get sunflowers.” I turned to the shop owner with the last sentence.
“You're the one who really doesn't know. He has a flower cooler, you see,” Lyric said, pointing at the flower cooler behind the counter.
“But how can it be fresh?” I argued.
“You really are—”
“Actually…” The shop owner, who had been silent for a long time, interjected to end my small war of words with Lyric. “Customers can choose both sunflowers and roses in the same bouquet. It would be better this way. Right?”
To be honest, that didn't seem like a bad idea after all. After all, there was no way I'd accept anything other than Georgia's favorite sunflower, and Lyric seemed convinced that roses were the right answer. must I squinted intently at the other person before making a decision.
“That's fine,” I replied. Lyric gave a slight nod to our agreement.
“Okay, I'll take roses and sunflowers.” The woman bent down and wrote down something I couldn't see in her little notebook. "What color rose should the customer choose? Right now we have red, white, pink, and yellow in our shop."
“Dang.” I was about to open my mouth to answer but was suddenly stopped when the young man standing next to Qing spoke up.
“White,” I said before turning to wiggle my eyebrows at the other person without giving up. “The sunflowers are bright yellow and if you use red, Roses will steal the spotlight from sunflowers. So use white.”
Lyric narrowed his eyes at me as well and protested, “I don't want roses to be just ornamental plants for sunflowers. Please use red."
I pursed my lips and was about to turn to argue, but the owner's voice stopped us again. “Shouldn't it be pink? Not as flashy as red. And it doesn't fade like white.” Her beautiful, charming smile and the fact that she said made us both silent and unable to say anything but nodded easily.”
If so, please ask the customer to choose the type of flower bouquet first. I'll go pick up the order form for you."
I took a thin catalog and held it up. Before opening it, it was the same time that the owner of the store walked out the door and there was a little Afghan breed dog. A not very large person walked in. The two of us looked at the pictures of various flower bouquets in the shop's book, not paying attention to the dog who kept walking around and sniffing. Going around and around
“I think this is beautiful,” I said, pointing at the picture arranged in a round bouquet surrounded by burlap and dark brown ribbons.
“But I think it looks much better this way,” Lyric protested, pointing at a long bouquet of flowers with white paper and clear plastic decorated with designs on the back.
wad!
"this! Why do you keep interrupting me so much?!” I started to shout angrily.
Kwak!
“Who said I was a polished person? You're the one who interrupted,” he argued. “Look, it's much more formal like this.”
Kwak!
“Who told you this is easy to handle? It's more portable than I'll tell you,” I said, standing up proudly.
Kwak!
“How do you know? Has anyone ever bought it for you to know that it's easier to handle?” Lyric teased, giving me a cheeky look.
Kwak!
“This is you—”
“Oh! It's dead!! Lady, stop it!” We both jumped when we heard a shout from behind us before we turned to see a woman with red-orange hair trying to pull a book out of the puppy's mouth.
“Oh, that's terrible!” I accidentally cried out softly. When the dog didn't seem to stop easily, he grabbed a thick book in his mouth and rushed out of the store with his owner, who had to rush after him to retrieve the item, leaving only torn scraps of paper scattered all over the floor.
I know why we shouldn't talk on the phone while driving because we're just arguing. We didn't even know that there was a mischievous dog nearby that was biting books until they were torn to bits. What would we do with risking our own and others' lives on the road?
Lyric was the first to bend down to pick up the torn pages and put them together before I could follow suit. I wasn't the least bit surprised that Why does the paper tear from the spine so easily? I'd like to guess. This book is probably at least a hundred years old. The paper is both crisp and brittle to the point of being a burnt brown color. There are speckled spots.
It's all over the place, plus the letters are still handwritten. And what's worse is the smell. that has spread out, think about it and say Even just a few sheets of paper can emit this much stench. If it were the whole book, how much would it be?
As I was helping Lyric collect the scraps of paper, my eyes fell on a message on the nearest piece of paper. I blinked a few times. To make sure that what he saw was not wrong, he picked up the piece of paper and read it out loud.
“'Heart Harmony Potion Recipe'” Lyric looked up at me, alternating with the paper in my hand, before both of us were startled as the car door was slammed open by the shop owner. I was in a hurry. Quickly folding the paper, he hid it behind his back and turned to give the woman a wry smile.
“I'm sorry for making the customer wait. Haha, but...you...what day should the customer come to pick up the item? Hee hee hee,” she said while panting, using one hand to put her foot on the edge of the door like a person who was about to run out of energy and probably chase after that little dog. The cover of the book still had an Afghan saliva mark on it. That arm was stuck quite a bit, but the troublemaker had slipped past the young woman and was lying next to her.
The dead-faced bar counter Lyric gently nudged me. Before I could catch a glimpse of what I was thinking about doing.
Even though I can't guarantee that what's written on this page is just a joke or a hidden truth, isn't it better than not having a backup plan at all?
I slipped the piece of paper into my pocket and said.
“Tomorrow at three o'clock in the afternoon.”
'The formula for the mind-altering potion
Ingredients: A handful of red roses for a young woman.
one daffodil
Two bunches of lilacs
Four mums
Two mermaid feathers...'
“Are you going crazy or something?” Lyric asked me after the two of us had moved from the flower shop to a coffee shop not too far from our neighborhood. “There is no part of the paper. This couldn't be truer, and I dare say you must be just as crazy. Definitely with that woman if she follows this potion recipe.”
To be honest, I also didn't think that what the flower shop owner was reading was some kind of strange potion recipe book. Lyric confirmed that while he was bending over to pick up the paper, he didn't just see the formula for the Harmony Potion. But there are other formulas such as 'Memory Erasing Potion' and 'Enchantment Potion'.
And many other things that were not ready to be read were interrupted first.
I think if we really want to reconcile the two of us, I don't see any harm in trying to make this potion, even if it's just a children's story or a book that a crazy woman invented. It happens if two people are going to reconcile. However, they have to reconcile but if it works. I will take it as a small help.
It's the little things that make everything go better faster. Remember what I told you? Technique, technique.
“Come on Lyric. I don't see how this would be bad at all. It's like…uh…” I furrowed my brow, trying to find the words to convince the other party to join in. “Herbal water! Yes…yes, herbal water, you know these days people like things that come from nature and are beneficial to the body.”
“Is this ‘mermaid feather’ beneficial to the body?” He asked, raising his eyebrows.
“Did you see that? Now, who likes to interrupt? If you don't want to join in, I don't mind. I thought you were asking me to join in too. I still agree. When I have a plan You still don't care about my plan and think it's nonsense.” With good persuasion, It doesn't work for me that I don't have anything to argue about anymore. So I chose to deflect the issue instead.
“I didn't say it was… nonsense,” he replied indifferently.
“So?” I asked back with sparkling eyes.
“Listen, Meg,” Lyric finally said after a moment of silence, “I know you want to help Georgia too. But she knew that it wouldn't work unless she was a witch or fairy or something like that...sigh! I think you've been reading too many novels with that aunt librarian.” The last sentence sounded like he was complaining more to himself.
It's not that I didn't recognize the fact that Lyric said it, but that book looked very old and believable. Maybe it was a witch's scroll or a manual for gypsies like I'd read about in a book. The location of the store was strange. It seems like a location that doesn't matter at all and is far away. The whole area is dense with trees. Also took an old car
It's a shop itself. If you think about it, that's it. In the case that the store has no customers at all throughout the week. And where would a woman get the money to buy food if she wasn't a witch who could make pancakes float out with a glass of orange juice every morning?
Besides that, she seemed to be very possessive of that book in case I forgot to tell her about it. After recovering a bit, the young woman rushed over and grabbed the torn pages from mine and Lyric's hands. She gave a wry smile. before saying thank you casually He slipped all the papers inside the book and quickly stuffed the entire book into the drawer under the bar counter.
Therefore, from the assumptions of someone like me who has read fairy tales and mysteries from the thirteenth century to the present, there is a high possibility that the woman might be the last witch of some kind. She was keeping this secret so that it wouldn't be revealed to us before she was captured by the villagers and tied to a pole and set on a brutal fire.
Some textbooks have also said that Witches and wizards are just ordinary people like us, but they have 'magic formulas' and 'secret procedures' that they use to create evil magic. It's not magic as we understand it, if that's true. It is very likely that I will be able to create this magic potion and from now on Georgia and Zach will understand each other better and fall in love again!
“And who said I have to be a witch?” I said as I picked up the required ingredients and looked at them again and twitched the corners of my mouth up in a subtle curve.
I arranged for Georgia to meet at the ice cream shop near the school at 5:00 today, and Lyric graciously complied and went to meet Zach as well. Two hours before that, Lyric and I would head to the flower shop we went to yesterday.
The sound of the bell tied above the car door rattled as the shop owner placed a bouquet of mum flowers in a light purple vase. The little puppy wagged its tail in greeting. His owner also greeted him, “Welcome.”
"We've come to get the flowers we ordered," Lyric said as he handed the red-haired woman the order for the bouquet.
“Oh, wait a moment,” she said, inserting the reservation form into the paper column before walking to open the flower freezer.
“If we want flowers now, can we order more?” I asked.
young woman pretending to think “Customers must wait about an hour to arrange their bouquet, depending on the number of bouquets to order.”
“You don't have to make a bouquet,” I smiled, “we just want flowers.”
“Then that's fine. I don't know what additional flowers you want?” she asked as she placed a bouquet of bright yellow sunflowers with light pink roses perfectly interspersed. Both of these flowers were arranged in the long shape that Lyric wanted. It was supported by a soft-colored mulberry paper with a large ribbon of the same color tied in the middle.
“Five red roses, daffodils, and lilacs each.”
The woman froze slightly, causing me to flinch as well, fearing that she would remember that all the flowers I ordered were ingredients of her magic potion recipe. But oh my! How are you going to remember? Well, since the book is as thick as that.
Just a fraction of a second later She blinked a few times. before coming back to scatter like before, “Five each. Please wait a moment.”
“What are you doing with five of each?” Lyric turned to me and whispered softly. When I saw that the owner of the secret recipe had turned around and arranged flowers for us.
“First of all. If you use it as the formula says You'll get suspicious,” I whispered. “Second, let's make a mistake.”
The flower vendor gently placed the three kinds of flowers on the light brown paper. “Do you want anything else?”
Ah… I remember that in the recipe we needed a total of five items. If we didn't count the mermaid feathers that I still don't know where to get, there would be five, but here there were only three. What else is missing?
I furrowed my brow and looked at the four things on the counter before suddenly speaking. “It seems like something is missing.”
“Is it a mum flower?”
“Oh, yes! Dokma…mum…” I cried out happily when someone reminded me of this, but when I regained my composure I realized that something was amiss in our conversation.
That's right. But what's not right is how did you know!! Don't tell me that—
“How…how do you know?!” I asked, my face as shocked as I was. with a young man standing beside
You must know! You're definitely going to die, you're going to die, you're going to die, Meg!!!
The girl I secretly suspected was a shape-shifting witch was still smiling, but this time her smile was colder, to the point that I secretly got goosebumps. “I…I…I…” I stammered. Oh! That's terrible. I've read many books and backgrounds about wizards, but I've never read that.
If they were caught stealing something, how would they punish the person who stole it? How crazy! No, I don't—
"Alas! "Miss, why don't you know? Since it's autumn right now, everyone is asking about mummies," said the woman who was suspected to be a witch while laughing with a normal-looking expression on her face. Nothing happened at all and Lyric and I both secretly let out a long sigh. Both together
“That's it,” I said, “it's yours too. Just give me five more flowers.”
“Are you almost there, you little bitch?” Lyric whispered and I turned and bared my teeth at him.
“Yesterday, a lady bit my book.” The shop owner's conversational voice caught both of our attention once again, and the topic of conversation seemed to return to horror once again, despite the tone. Her voice will still sound comfortable. So, “I have to thank you again for saving those papers.”
Words of thanks floated out from the woman who was still busy wrapping flowers in a large piece of paper. I meant to say 'I'm pleased,' but swallowed the words as she continued.
“But it looks like there's 'one' piece of paper missing.” Even though the air wasn't that hot, I could feel the wetness of my hand and my heart began to pound, out of fear of guilt or not. You might even be punished by being cursed to become a toad or worse.
But then suddenly another hand slipped in and held my hand coldly. I looked up and looked at the person next to me. Before the other party tightened their grip on me and gave me a look that told me 'It's okay'.
“You two are so cute.” The girl's sweet voice broke the atmosphere around me, as if someone had taken a large hand and patted it on the pile of dust, both with the fear that she might catch her. And then there was this…strange feeling of being both excited, warm, and safe at the same time. Lyric and I quickly let go of each other's hands and turned to look this way and that, people in different directions.
Even though I felt hot on my face, I didn't think it would be this red as my eyes fell on my reflection from the windshield. Damn it! Just him holding my hand. That's it. Why is my face so red? And if it happens that—
Oh wait! All my thoughts ended the moment I saw something hanging from the car window.
“Is something wrong, Meg?”
I don't care about Lyric's question. He happily rushed over and picked up the medium sized Dreamcatcher that was hanging in front of the car window and grabbed a white and black feather nearly half a foot across. Before turning to ask the owner of this car
“Is this a mermaid feather?” Just as she nodded before she could open her mouth to speak, delighted that she was able to find a mermaid feather so quickly, I accidentally interrupted her, “Can I have one please? ? ...meaning I want to continue buying it.”
The woman blinked, unable to handle my excitement. “Actually,” she said, “if you want it, I'm happy to give it to you. Take it as a thank you for helping me collect the paper yesterday.”
"thank you! Thank you so much!”
"That's enough, you'll get caught soon," he whispered again. I could only give a wry smile to the former owner of the Dreamcatcher I was holding.
“Well, people are happy. What can I do?” I said to the young man with a toothy smile for the other person to see.
Okay, now we have all the ingredients and can say in one word: Love, Meg is here!!!
I picked up the paper and read it over again before looking at all the equipment and ingredients we'd found to make sure there wasn't anything missing.
“We just need to boil everything together,” I said. “Let's start with some water. Followed by all the flowers and then boiled until boiling.”
“And the feathers?” Lyric asked, nodding at the black and white mermaid feathers.
“Put it in as soon as the water boils,” I answered him, turning on the faucet and putting it into the stainless steel pot.
“Are you sure?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
I sighed softly before placing the pot that was almost half full of water onto the gas stove. “You've already asked me ten times and I said sure, sure. It's written here.”
“I mean, are you sure? If they eat it, they won't die.”
I rolled my eyes and laughed at Lyric's idea. “There's no way it says that we only mixed a little of this potion into their drink. Just a little. Not to the point of death.”
Lyric continued to mutter a sentence or two about his possible insecurities, but like I said. We'd only add a little bit of it if it were truly a magic formula. That was as if this liquid could actually be drunk or if it was just a joke. The amount is so small that they can't even feel it, it probably won't cause any problems.
I added all the flowers according to the recipe before turning on the gas stove. Lyric and I worked together to peel the mermaid feathers off the Dreamcatcher before rinsing them with clean water and putting them in. in the boiler after about twenty minutes have passed.
I don't think anything will change after we add the feathers, but let's face it, this is close to Georgia and Zach's appointment, so let's not even try. What are you going to know? Is that right?
“Zack will think I'm crazy if he finds out I boiled flowers with feathers and gave them to him to eat.” Lyric's face widened as I picked up the small glass bottle. Then scoop water into the boiling pot and pour it in.
“You shut up and help me wash this pot now!” I ordered before impatiently closing the lid on the glass bottle.
I don't even know. Will this method work and it might look a little…er…weird? But trust me, it will. That if we are confident in something, it will definitely be successful!
...I hope so.
Everything went according to plan: a cup of hot latte with a drop of the spirit solution. (Okay, I can admit that it wasn't just 'one drop' because I was a bit too excited and accidentally poured in a lot.) Hot cocoa and one more drop of magic potion. (This one is really one drop Because after I accidentally spilled it, Lyric didn't trust me to make that mistake a second time.)
And the beautiful bouquets, all perfectly placed on the wooden tables in the best corners of the Georgian shop, arrived first. She looked a bit puzzled by the bouquet of flowers and the reason I had arranged for her to come today, but after a while everything became clear as Zak walked in.
“Georgia…” Zach said.
“Zack…” Georgia called the other person's name, following the face that was once full of doubt. Instead, it turned into anger.
“Okay…Anyway, you guys are all here.” I was the one who started to break the atmosphere that had started when both of you realized that they were being tricked into meeting each other. “Have a seat, Georgia. You know that Zack has a lot of things he wants to tell you because otherwise he wouldn't have told Lyric to arrange for her to meet him.” I lied.
“Me?” Zack asked, pointing at himself as if. Have you ever really done something like that? Is it because he doesn't remember anything at all? As a result, Lyric and I immediately turned to look at each other… Okay, this job isn't as easy as I thought.
“Well…” Lyric hurriedly thought of words. He quickly stretched out his hand and grabbed the bouquet of flowers. “That's right! These are the flowers you entrusted me to buy for Georgia, don't you remember?”
“I—oh!” Zach was about to ask again. But Lyric quickly stopped him by shoving his elbow hard into Zach's ribs and giving him a look that said, 'I'm helping you, you idiot!' before Zach quickly made an excuse and played along in the water, resisting the urge. “Yes…that's right. I sent the lyrics to you.”
Georgia squinted at the bouquet of flowers that Liric offered for a moment, not accepting it at all before flicking her gaze to her former lover and speaking. “I think you must be remembering wrongly. If you're going to buy me flowers, you'll have to buy them red roses, not sunflowers. Take it and give it to that cheerleader mom!”
I couldn't even close my mouth. What did you say just now? 'Red rose' like that? But I think Georgia has always liked sunflowers! The young man who was working with me turned around and raised his eyebrows as I knew he was mocking me. He shook his head when he saw that I was stunned by my best friend's words and refused to say anything else. at all
"Actually, Zach didn't say that you liked sunflowers. I misunderstood." Lyric corrected me. I only turned to look at him, feeling remorseful for arguing with him to the death for so long at that flower shop.
“Let's say you have something, hurry up. Speak up or I will return.” Georgia raised her head without giving in.
“Listen, Georgia. I don't want to break up with you—”
"oh! So that means you want to date me and that girl at the same time, right?!”
“It's not like that, it's—”
“How can it not be? Someone sent me a picture of you kissing that woman. What do you want me to think?!” Georgia's voice became louder and louder until people in the shop started to look.
“You listen to me until the end!”
“Alright! I think they both take it easy. Let's go first." Lyric hurriedly got up and stopped the troops. “Let's drink something to calm down first. How about we talk slowly again?”
“I'm not hungry!” Georgia shouted.
“Come on, Georgia,” I hurriedly convinced the other party. Grabbing a glass of cocoa and handing it to him, he saw that now was a golden opportunity to lure the pair into agreeing to drink the harmony potion. “Drink a little. What's your favorite hot cocoa?"
Lyric persuaded Zach until he grabbed a latte and took a sip, even though his eyes were still fixed on the young man who had broken her heart. But one of Georgia's hands reached out to grab the cocoa cup and gulped it down. Yes…just like that…just like that Georgia drank some more. The book states that when the two former lovers each drank a drink mixed with the liaison potion, the potion would begin to take effect immediately!
And now Georgia and Zach will—
Crack!
"I've finished drinking, I'm going back!"
“What…what?!” I asked in shock. As soon as Georgia picked up the cocoa glass and drank it all in one gulp, then slammed the glass down. She stood up from her chair and prepared to rush out of the shop, as if she had not been there just before. I drank some magic potion or something like that! Crazy! Did I do something wrong?
Even though Georgia herself had already drank the entire glass. But nothing happened at all, or was this just child's play?
"I'll hurry back to that doctor!"
Zach's words caused Georgia to flinch, causing her to turn around and narrow her eyes and ask in a tone that was considered cold to some degree, "What did you say?"
“I asked, would you hurry back to that doctor?” he repeated.
"Who are you talking about? I don't have anyone else like you have Amber!"
Okay, other than that damn mind-bending potion, it won't work. It seems to cause the two of them to fight more than before. Let it be like this, Meg!
"Me and Amber have nothing to do with each other," Zach denied.
"oh! Of course they kissed like that!” the woman said sarcastically.
“Who else will go like you? Come with your real boyfriend but still look at other men! Amber isn't like that at all!”
“Good! Good!” Georgia shouted as she picked up the bouquet that Lyric and I had spent nearly fifty dollars on each and slammed it on the ground so hard that the stem of the sunflower broke. “Then please go. Stay with that girl!!!”
"good! You too, go live with that guy!!!” The sound of the two people's voices was gone as they turned their heads in different directions and walked out of the store with their feet slamming without showing any regard for each other, leaving only me, Liri. C and crazy potions that don't actually exist!
I don't care about anything now! Not caring anymore, I was more than a million percent sure I hadn't made a mistake with the recipe. And since I didn't do anything wrong, why is this crazy magic potion? So this doesn't work? It's impossible when we have all the ingredients. Follow all the steps except that we were boiled by that woman until it was worse than the feathers of the gums.
“Can you please take it easy, Meg?” A familiar voice came from a young man who was half-running, half-walking behind me. "You can't take him seriously."
“Why not? After all, this potion formula is a fake!” I replied without stopping.
“Because he didn't trick you!” Lyric ran in front of me as soon as he had the chance and we were close to the flower shop. That person is us. Both of us who worked together to steal that paper believed that it was a magic potion that would be effective.”
I was silent and missed what Lyric said. Along with making yourself cool.
“That woman didn't even know we took his things if she was going to yell at him. The one who loses will be you, Meg.”
Logically speaking, I'm starting to agree with everything Lyric said. But if that woman thinks the potion works and is going to try it, then she deserves to know that it is one of the stupidest things a human being can do…and unfortunately, I am one of them. The humans who did those stupid things.
“Then I will take this paper back and tell him how bad the results are,” I said, holding up the paper. before turning to avoid Lyric in order to continue walking.
I heard Lyric sigh again before his figure appeared in my sight. “He would definitely put her in jail if he found out she stole it.”
“I said it was an accident.”
You know what, if that woman wasn't a witch like I assumed, she must have been very possessive of that book to a certain extent because of the torn pieces of paper. If it's a normal person You might not invest the effort to re-install it until you realize that one page is missing, and it only takes one day.
And if that's really the case You deserve to get that missing page back… I mean, even if it's just one page with a ridiculous formula that doesn't work.
Lyric stopped me for a few more sentences, but since we were this close to the flower shop, I ignored his persuasion and walked past him in a van that had been converted into a grocery store.
“Welcome. Oh! It's you.” The flower shop owner continued to welcome us with the same beautiful smile as before. “Don't you know what kind of flowers you want to add?”
“No,” I denied before placing the page I had brought with me on the bar counter. “I would like to bring this back.”
"oh! I don't think you'll find it. Thank you for keeping it for me.” She picked up the piece of paper before turning to grab the large book and turning it over to the missing page.
Strangely, even though the paper itself is as worn as before, there are no traces of glue or Scotch tape at all!
I accidentally took a step back and glanced at the woman inserting paper into a blank page every now and then.
“Now my book would be complete again if there was anything I could do to repay your kindness. Please tell me,” the woman said humbly before closing the book.
“Just this matter. It's nothing,” Lyric replied. “It's nothing. Let's go home, Meg.”
The young man pulled me around and walked out of the shop. My body was about to follow him obediently. But one thing is still stuck in my heart and I refuse to let this place go.
“Wait!” I exclaimed. “Well…I stole it myself.” I confessed as Lyric's shocked expression caught on. But the other party who had stolen this thing had a calm expression on her face, as if she… already knew! “I just want to help a friend. I thought it would work and everything would go back to the way it was before. I'm really sorry.”
I was completely prepared. The whole time we walked here, I had in mind that If she gets really angry and calls the police on me for stealing her stuff. Or will you revile me? Blame me for being a thief, or worst of all, if you were actually a witch and cast a spell to turn me into a toad as punishment or something like that, I'm willing to accept it boldly. It is better to be brave than to be both a thief and a liar.
But who would have thought that what I received in return wouldn't be a charge of scolding or black magic? Instead, it was a pure laugh that surprised both me and Lyric.
“And did it work?” she asked while laughing.
“Uh…not really,” I answered uncertainly. “I think we did exactly what the formula said but they still fought like before.”
“Is that so?” Even though it was a question, it sounded more like an answer. The woman sat on the empty chair next to her and planted her elbows on the bar counter. “Maybe you guys didn't find all the ingredients.”
“It's impossible. I have everything written on it,” I protested. “Red roses, daffodils, mums, lilacs, and gum feathers.”
“Unless you're a young woman,” Lyric said, causing me to turn around and stare wide-eyed. He only shrugged in response.
“Then it means You are really missing the most important ingredient.”
“What is it?”
“Magic?” Her answer made Liri unable to hold back his laughter. I myself could only look at the other person's face, not understanding exactly what she was trying to mean.
"I'm sorry, but if what Meg lacks is magic, then I don't think that piece of paper is necessary," Lyric said, trying to hold back his laughter. “Since if there really is magic, if you want to conjure something, you can definitely get it, right?”
“I don't mean that kind of magic to make two people love each other again like before. Just having flowers and feathers isn't enough. But there must be trust, connection, patience, and forgiveness. Even if there is no liquid in this formula It will definitely work.”
Perhaps the matter that causes the heart to overwork is what the flower shop owner said. No matter how much there are people supporting two people to love each other, there is a magic formula that only works. any Or even if it's magic that you can just dream and see results immediately, but if the two people aren't ready to listen to each other.
There isn't even the word trust. And the worst thing is that there is no love for each other and no matter what you do, you will not be able to unite two hearts to connect like before again.
I chose to walk out of the shop without thinking about trying to find any more recipes for potions or spells. He didn't even think about planning for Georgia and Zach to get back together because he knew that no matter how hard he tried, if he really didn't want it to go back to the way it was before. It's impossible.
“Meg,” I was startled slightly when the silence was suddenly broken by a young man's call. I let out a soft noise of protest. before looking out at the sky that was starting to turn orange, “I'm sorry for inviting you to do these things. So we were in a big mess and the two of them never reconciled again.”
“It's okay. Lyric.” I put my hands behind my back and took a deep breath of comfort like never before. You know, I still stand by my previous words that what Lyric told me might be right. That I should go somewhere other than the library and look at something different from the page.
Because doing as he said made me feel a lot more refreshed than before. “Actually, it wasn't that bad, I guess… these two days of hanging out with you were really fun.”
“So?” the other party asked in a surprised tone. “I think she would rather sit at home and read novels.”
“That's right, but this isn't bad.”
“So, let's go out for a walk together again the next day?”
“Sure,” I agreed without thinking.
“Uh…Meg,” he called out to the other person.
“Ara—” Before I could even finish my sentence, bright yellow sunflowers beautifully arranged in a round bouquet appeared in front of me, “L…Lyric…”
“I think you'll like it.”
I don't know what Zach and Georgia plan to do between their hearts right now, but to me…
I think I'm ready to work my magic.
